I thought the whole lan party thing was a joke 
. Surprisingly, there appear to be a couple of girls there...look about like I'd expect, though. This reminds me of the people who go to anime-related conventions and dress up...definitely an extreme, but stereotypical and funny, nonetheless.

I know a lot of 'cool' and in-shape people who are quite happy and successful in their lives and guess what? They play games like WoW, GH and in the case of my fiancee, Mario Galaxy a bit too much 
The 'stereotypical' gamer as seen above of course stands out like a sore thumb but what about the rest of society?

Seems like this study only quered the sterotypical gamer. I play console games about 1-3 hours TOPS per week (and in the spring/summer that number is usually 0 hrs/week). Does that make me a gamer?
I've always been into games ever since I was young... but I've never been out of shape or depressed. Quite the opposite on both parts. Friends of mine who play games fall into the same category as me as well. I also have several neighbors who I found out were into games and I would have never figured it being that most of them are high level execs. They use the games the same way most people I know... as a stress relief.
Maybe they watched the South Park WoW episode one too many times during the study? There are extremes with anything, doesn't mean studying them makes them the average...
