Street Fighter Alpha to PS2
More frenzied fighting from Capcom.

by Jeremy Dunham

January 24, 2006 - Capcom has announced that it will be bringing its "other" Street Fighter series to the PlayStation 2 this summer. Known as Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, the brand new compilation pack collects Street Fighter Alpha, Alpha 2, Alpha 2 Gold, and Alpha 3 together in a single set. To sweeten the pot even further, the company has also included the PlayStation / Saturn hit Pocket Fighter under its more formal name -- Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix.

All five games in the collection will share the same three gameplay options: Arcade, Versus, and Survival, and it has been confirmed that the titles involved will all be direct arcade ports.
Yay or Nay? Fire it up guys.

That is sweet but damn... it better come with a custom-designed SF controller too.... otherwise I'm not interested... the PS2 controller SUCKS for SF - I'll go so far to say it sucks for fighting games in general. The old Genesis 6-button was the BEST!!!!! So simple in design too!!! it doesn't have to be complicated.

they should do it where you can fight anybody and anybody, old Ryu vs. young Ryu.

That'd be nifty...

But, of all the Ryu iterations, my fave is probably the Evil Ryu. Then again, I may as well use Akuma if I had to go with ER.

I actually attempted it. I made it all the way to Balrog on perfects too...and of ALL bosses, he hit me with his stupid charge punch while I was blocking...That was the closest I ever came to meeting the gag conditions...

Boy was I ever owned for a month attempting to get to Sheng Long...
