someone find me a wii pleaseeeeee

I've been on the search for a wii for the past week, calling just about every store multiple times to no avail. gamestop/eb gets them in every now and then in quantities of maybe 2-3 but they sell out immediately. if someone can find me one, i'd be very happy. You might even get one of these.

We (entire family basically) have been trying to find one for my nephew. No luck whatsoever. We're missing them by 10-20 minutes all the time. There were 2 PS3's sitting on the shelf at Wal-Mart the other day, no Wii's.

ditto - my son's birthday is Jan. 25th, and I'm hoping to snag one by then. My local Wal-Mart got in 10 the day BEFORE I went in. They were gone inside an hour. Said it took them 3 weeks to get this shipment, and had no idea when the next ones were expected.

Not sure what to tell you. Timing is everything. If you wait until next month the odds are they will be easy to come by. Even though the holidays are over people are now shopping with Christmas money and gift cards... so they will still be hard to come by for the next 3-5 weeks or so...

I'm seeing the same thing with PS3. I saw a 20gb at a local Walmart last Thursday. 2 nights ago I saw a 60gb PS3 at Best Buy. I've gotta believe PS3 is a bit of a flop for Sony:

Lets say sony has put out 1 million units in the US & nintendo has put out 4 million. I haven't seen any wii's in stock anywhere even though there are techinally more units released. PS3 with about 1/4 the distribution I've seen 2x in the last week and at least for a few days you were able to buy one online from bestbuy.com. You would think the system with less units, would be hard to get if it's a 'hot item'.

I wouldn't go as far as calling it a "flop", but keep in mind... most people can't run out and "shall out" $500-$600... Where as $250 is a lot easier for people to justify...

For those who are still looking for the Wii's. Have you guys/gals tried craigslist.org? I was browsing on them earlier and found quite a few posts of Wii's for sale (obvious more than the actual cost of the Wii at a retailer store) but if you REALLY must have it then that is always an options as opposed to ebay. My roommate managed to pick up 2 more Wii's recently (we live in the inland empire so cal) and is going to sell one to me. Good luck on the search everyone.

Both Sony and M$ have met their targets for the holidays. What happens from now onward will be interesting though. Sounds like Wii is a huge (surprise?) success.

Well thats only half true, well for Sony that is but I guess we don't really care about sales outside of the US...

...but then again they did say that there might be a discrepancy in the shipment figures.

^how did you hear about this place? It doesn't look very reputable. Is it even secure checkout? How can they get it to you when stock is so limited right now?

and let me know if you actually get it.

I got one in Toys R Us the other day. They got a shipment of 20 while I was actually in the store. 10 of them went within the first few minutes of unboxing the shipment, so demand is still definitely there.

The employee at Toys R Us mentioned they are getting fairly regular shipments, so keep calling / checking these stores and you should find one.

Toys R Us seems to get large shipments from Nintendo, so they may be a good store to check often.

We've also been looking for a Wii console since seeing one at a Christmas party. Well, my wife found one two days ago at our local Naval Base exchange. So the military bases are getting them now. This exchanged had received 10 and there were only 3 left when my wife bought ours. $249.00 out the door (no tax).

Guys check Wii forums.. That's how I found out CC, BB and Target were all holding their Wii's for their Sunday ad.. All CC, BB and Targets had 30+ +/- 10 for their Sunday (1-21-07) ad. I was actually helping a girl find one and decided to get one for myself..

I gave up and ended up getting my son a PSP for his birthday, just in case I wasn't able to score a Wii in time. Two days after I bought the PSP, I found a Wii at W-Mart. Stuck with the PSP anyways; he loved it and all is fine. And besides, the games are cheaper.

For you're guys' sake, why didn't I find this thread sooner?

I'm actually a manager for a GameStop in FL, any of you guys who are nearby who want to stop in, or anyone who wants me to get you anything rare/odd for games just let me know.

if you are looking for remotes/nunchuks/component cables and don't mind waiting a couple of days...

noa store

I got mine here for better pricing than anywhere else online I could find... everything is brand new, but the remote just comes sealed in a plastic bag as if it is a replacement, but works great!
