Some Racing Eye Candy for You (GTR Sim)

I don't think this is even due to be released in North America but it can probably be imported. I'm pretty sure I'm going to.

this is the new version of GT Racing 2002, which I know I mention a lot here... game is bad ass. This new video is really nice, the main differences from the older version are the lighting effects (night racing = :drool) - and a few new cars. I have some videos to share from the 2002 version of this game as well. It was an underground mod for F1 2002.

thx 4 the vid, that is some sweet eye candy - the night racing footage is owning me

It's supposed to be much more than that. A whole new damage model, an entirely new (and supposedly quite agressive) AI engine, and coolest of all IMO dynamic changes to the track surface including marbles building up off line. The release date is March 11th but I'm figuring on at least another 6-8 weeks before it lands on our shores.

I just assumed you guys were only going to be doing console stuff at the "invitationals." If you do any PC racing sims, then yeah I'm in. I need to find out how much I really suck.

We do PC racing sims every chance we get - (well, it's usually only GTR 2002 - but sometimes we will do F1). It's 3 of us usually, and we are kind of addicted to GTR. One time, we played two nights in a row, about 6 hours per night.. the next day, we almost felt like we had raced at a real track event, with the aches and pains and all. It was kind of crazy and surely let us know that GTR is just about the best race simulator we have ever played.

We're all in for having a good time, not super-competitive or anything. In fact, we're not big fans of the super-competitive types that spoil the fun for everyone. Sure, it's nice to win, and we try to win - but it doesn't have to get in the way of having FUN - which is what should be going on. We are at different skill levels, there are times we have close races, and times where we get frustrated and take our aggression out on each other with some short-track-style driving.

I can't wait to play the new game. I have some great videos of GTR 2002 that I need to find and upload. And, they are not the ones of me flipping the F550 coming up the back straight of Road America, lol...

there is an online racing component in GTR 2002 at least, that I have tried before, and not had much luck with... other cars' movement is erratic and shaky (on the LAN it's butter-smooth) - sometimes the image of other cars will flash off and back on, like the car will disappear momentarily... little stuff like that makes it annoying... also there aren't many people playing the game to begin with, there are even fewer playing it online.
