Sid Meier's Railroads!

It was just released and I'm debating on buying it. The Railroad Tycoon series is my second favorite series behind Civilization. I read some reviews where hard-core fans are not so impressed due to lack of size and scope. I'm not sure what to think as I also like the simple format of Pirates! which this game is modeled from.

I think it's 39.99 so I'll probably end up picking it up.

I went to Walmart after work to buy it (because I pass 3 of them on the way home) but of course they don't have it in yet. Maybe I'll run by Bestbuy at lunch.

Highly addictive!

Well, I went to BB at lunch and picked up a copy. I didn't get a chance to play until tonight.

I only played for a couple of hours which seemed like a few minutes. So far, it's awesome! The graphics are very detailed and look great on my hign end PC. I have everything maxed and there is no slowdown.

Now for the gameplay. The main focus is simple trackbuilding. No longer do you have to build around town and the Railroad is the most important thing and the cities adjust without losing any building. A very nice touch. The next thing- SUPPLY and DEMAND... that's how you focus on which cities and annexes provide what. Roughting efficient train routes to you stations can take some practive. A few of my trains seemed to be lost most of the time because of my building skiils The AI is pretty good

Capitalism compes to mind when playing this game. You can buy out industries, buy and sell stock, and totally wipe out the competition. I can't wait to play Online.

In conclusion- if you are new to Railroad Tycoon series, or if you just have a general interest in Markets- Go and buy the Game.

Sid Meier is my favorite name in the industry and he doesn;t dissappoint here!

8.9/10
