My cousin was looking around the internet and told me he found an article saying that the PSP update will eventually ruin ur PSP and wont let it function properly.... is this true? has anyone heard anything about this?

 

What? What website was this i doubt it will break ur psp but it does screw up the warranty.

 

the official us psp software update with neither break your psp nor screw up your warrantly. the same can't be said for the japanese or unofficial versions. i think he is talking about the update with disable your psp from certain hacks.
