Devil May Cry........yes

Ninja Gaiden.........I couldn't beat the first boss.
too hard...hmmm....i dunno, i havent played either of those games. I mean, this is just a platformer, right? running, jumping, attacking? as long as i can get through it, even after dying a few times, i'll be okay, but i'm just scared im going to buy it and then not be able to beat the first level. I guess it has a few difficult modes, so it should be okay. Maybe i'll rent it first.
Does anyone have this game?

It's supposedly very similar. And so, imagine a game like Super Mario but you can fire weapons.
okay so I got the game, and here are my impressions (note: I never played it before for any of the other systems):
Its a lot of fun, very contra-esque, themed of course to the whole ghosts and goblins thing with a very capcom flavor. Get ready to die a lot...i mean a lot. Luckily there are infinite continues, at least on novice level, so you can keep trying and trying. Reminded me of contra in this aspect because I died a lot with that game too (luckily i had up up down down left right left right down down select start in contra). There is a ton of stuff going on in each level, i.e. guys coming from all angles all the time. The graphics are pretty good, I can't complain. The backgrounds are really good looking and some of the enemy models are great.
The game doesnt seem too long, and it will only take you probably 4-8 hours to complete, but the challenge then is kicking it up a notch on the difficulty level, or trying to beat it again faster on the same skill level, or to get more of the power-ups etc.
One thing that is kind of annoying that has been pointed out in other reviews is the control. When you jump, you can't control yourself once you are in the air. Right and jump makes you jump right the same distance every time, so if you just want to jump right a little bit, you're out of luck. This can be frustrating because its extremely easy to jump right and have your character go too far and completely miss a platform (and plummet to your death).
So overall this game is a lot of fun, and its good to see a traditional, old school platformer on the psp (or any modern system). However, the game is pretty tough, albeit doable, so get ready for some old school challenge. The game is $40 bucks, and you get $16 for it when you trade it in, making the overall price really just $24. In my opinion, its worth getting and playing for a month or two, and if you get bored of it, trade it in, becuase a month or two of fun is worth $24.
