PSP... rocks and sucks

well, it rocks because it can play games, music and movies... I was playing Untold Legend for a little while, got so bored, then started playing Metal Gear Acid again. Well, I still not quite sure how the cost system works in Metal Gear, but unlike Untold Legend, the more I play MGA, the more addcited I get!!! So many twists and turns in this game.

Well, on the other hand, I upgraded my PSP to the new firmware while my friends didnot. They get to enjoy all the PSP games ISO roms, but I CAN'T!!!!! Sucks, maybe I will downgrade again.

my rants over.

I just finished Metal Gear the other night. No idea how the cost works either, but its still a great game once you get started. THe Metal Gear fight is pretty cool, not too hard. WHat part are you up to? Cant wait for Acid 2 in March.

Also, I only have Metal Gear, Hot Shots and NFSU, all good, but boring after a while. I just bought GTA on ebay for 30 bucks and will have it on Monday. Cant wait to play it. Also want to get Socom and Infected.

Virtua Tennis and Lumines are the best games out for the PSP right now, IMHO...

I got Virtua Tennis a couple days ago from Gamefly. I played it for an hour and returned it. Didn't do anything for me

MLB is my favorite so far, I'm about 130 games into my season.

do you play and/or follow tennis in real life? if not, I could see how it might not do anything for you.

at this point I would wait for PSP2 to come out.. I know that might be a while, but if you've held off this long from getting a PSP, I don't think waiting a little longer will hurt too much.

holy quick on the trigger.. TopSpin is more fun to play than Virtua Tennis on PSP, that's for sure. although, you can't really compare the 2.

I still find Virtua Tennis better than Top Spin...

Then again, I've always been partial to Dreamcast games...

technically its been out for 11 months. the reason I mention PSP2 is because it has been in the buzz... ppl are saying it might be a pre-cursor to the PS3, with a "mini-cell" processor... meaning, it may come out before the PS3, which is due next year. It will most likely have 2 analog sticks, a hard drive, and other improvements. Think about what's going to happen to existing PSP's once PSP2 comes out. Paper weights.

you're comparing console to console now... still I like Top Spin better, because the shots feel better... feels like you're hitting harder, especially when you're "in the zone"... the biggest point about PSP Tennis is having a sweet tennis game that you can play anywhere.

thats exactly what it is, I couldn't put my finger on it. In topspin when you get a clean shot you really smash it, virtua tennis you don't get that.

looking... also I read somewhere that GT4 Mobile will be debuting on PSP2.... not PSP. I need to link this shit... I read so much stuff... hard to keep track sometimes.. I think they are shooting for PSP2 because PSP doesn't have enough mustard for unlaggy/unchoppy multiplayer wi-fi racing with GT4 Mobile's graphics engine...

Well, the great thing about Top Spin is that you can create lotsa players (and surprisingly, the Create-a-player Asian dude I have looks like me )...

I find the AI to be rather uneven and bordering on unfair at times...Then again, Virtua Tennis is like that too...

AI? the BEST thing about these tennis games is multiplayer. I haven't had a chance to try PSP tennis with wi-fi but that's probably something else that has been missing, the multiplayer. Multiplayer (4P) VT or Top Spin is about the most fun I've had on a console... esp when all the players are about equal in skill..
