Awesome...finally a true killer app for the PSP in my books.

This part sounds very intersting:
"Now, we've gone over the six ways that players can recruit new troops in previous features, including brute force and trading team members with friends. Not only does the game support the forthcoming GPS peripheral, but it uses pre-existing features of the PSP in new ways. The standout method has to be the AP Scan, which utilizes the PSP's ability to search for WiFi connections to generate new soldiers. Players even have the opportunity to boost this search with an included "mini-game" to augment the signal that the PSP is receiving at the time. While these new characters are generated randomly based on the location and the handheld itself, it's also possible to pick up soldiers by "war driving" around, grabbing signals from places like fast food restaurants, bridge toll plazas and other locations that use wireless signals. In some cases, tracking down these obscure signals may result in some of the strongest characters that you'll have in your team, and it's possible to spend hours simply searching for new troops to add to your forces. One quick hint though: if you're going to look for signals, get a friend to drive you. It can be hard as hell to drive a car and successfully track down new soldiers (and I speak from personal experience during rush hour...)"

...does anyone have this game yet?
...I just wanted to say, because of this thread, I now, have a PS3...
"huh?" did you say?... I read this thread yesterday, drove around trying to find it... nobody had it... so I gave it one last try at Game Stop... while waiting to be helped.... a customer was at the counter a bit pissed cause they had sold his pre-ordered PS3... (he didn't pick it up within 48 hours, was out of town) I, totally, pretended like I wasn't paying attention... so then I hear the employee tells him... very discreetly, that they are "possibly" getting some... today... so today I got there just before they open... and waited til UPS arrived... and sure enough they got in 6 60g's and 2 20g's... but 2 of the 60's were for the reserved people, so I bought it... not sure yet if I should sell it or save until I get a 1080p TV, right now, at the moment there isn't a PS3 game that interest me...

So why spend nearly $700 for one?
I would try and sell it and make

I make decent money to begin with, so IF, suppose, I sell it for $1000 (profit around $300) it wouldn't even make up for the effort I've put in...

Exactly, it wouldn't be worth your effort to sell it (a maximum of three hours effort to sell it for $300 = $100hr) and there are no games out there that you want, so why not put it towards the 1080p TV you need or perhaps even invest it? Then sometime in the future (2007?) when there is a game you want you could buy it then.

...but to be honest? The main reason for me to consider selling this one (from Game Stop) is that I would rather buy from Costco (eventually) solely for the fact that I can return it at any time if anything happens to it... hassle free. I've returned my 360 twice already

Dude, MGS: Portable Ops is a PSP game...not a PS3 game.

Why would this game compel you to buy a gameless-overheating-kitten-eating machine?

...but anyway back on the subject... I just picked it up from Game Stop! (MGS portable ops, that is)... going home now, but I might be too tired to play it tonight...

I am just busting your balls since you don't seem very enthusiastic about your purchase.
