Supposed to be set in 2025.

And looks like you can fly jets or use robots? I'm guessing those are kill streaks, but maybe not and you can use them like in Battlefield?

Actually looks really cool. But I won't be buying it, just like I didn't buy MW3. Unless of course it's different enough to justify the purchase.

Did Black Ops have free DLC or no?

Not my style, I hate games that are set in the future. I'll stay with MW3.

^ Totally agree, if I play a futuristic game, it'll be the new Halo.

The developers had a chance to make things better and improve the game... but instead they just threw in a futuristic timeline... I guess I shouldn't expect much from them.

I'm actually even getting tired of MW3...I may give BF3 a try, I hear the MP is better than that of COD...I don't play single player, multiplayer only.

I wasted my money with MW3...

I haven't even touched it.

I just signed in last weekend to get my free maps since I'm an Elite member...

Battlefield's been the best for me. The COD series seems a bit arcade-y in my experience. I didn't buy MW3 either.

I'm waiting on that new halo, but I hope whatever changes 343 makes are for the better.

I can top that...I also bought the Elite Edition... my XBox Live account ended months ago and I haven't renewed it. Meanwhile, I think there's been at least a couple new releases of map packages that I haven't claimed yet

Watch the new trailer, then you'll know what we're talking about. There's a difference between 3-4 years in the future and 10-15...the weapons, vehicles, all are things we don't have today, which makes me not want to play it. There's nothing in MW3 that we don't have today.

If you don't want futuristic weapons, then it's just going to be the same old rehashed garbage. A futuristic setting is a nice way of changing it up.

I liked the futuristic Ghost Recons. If they don't go futuristic, the only thing they can do is stay current or go back to the past

Having played Call of Duty games since COD2.... no thanks. Might as well start calling it Call of Duty 2013, 2014, etc. just like sports games. "Same old shit, with some stuff taken out, some stuff put in, and shiny new menus"

Looks like a wannabe BF2142

BATTLEFIELD FTW!

COD is just point and shoot, point and shoot. majority players being kids no scoping you.

BF3 is more of a tactical game play, and it has vehicles which are really fun to use.

BF3>COD

I know exactly what you're talking about, but it was still a dumb thing to say.

I'll take this game any day over Vietnam.

Oh, and in before the trol....shit. Too late.

If you can't see the major difference between MW3 and Black Ops 2, then I don't really feel like going back and forth anymore. I don't like futuristic weapons and gameplay, that's MY opinion. How is an opinion I have on a video game a dumb thing to say?

loool guys, this thing is using a 2+ year old engine.

This is just as bad as movies being re-released in 3D. Plainly a money grab with little work required.

I may (or may not) eat my words....

[IMG]Strike Force missions Black Ops II will be the first Call of Duty video game to feature branching storylines, in which the player's choice affects both the current mission and in turn, the overall course of the story. The game will feature special 'Strike Force' missions that are offered as a choice to the player during the campaign. Choosing one of the missions locks out the others unless the player begins a fresh campaign.[6] Strike Force missions allow the player to control a number of different war assets, such as unmanned aerial vehicles, jet fighters and robots. If the player dies in a Strike Force mission, the campaign continues recording that loss, as opposed to letting the player load a previously saved checkpoint. The player's progress in the Strike Force missions may go on to change even the plans of the story's antagonist, Raul Menendez.[6] By the end of the game, the player may have changed the results of the new Cold War, and the player will be shown what could have gone differently.[/IMG]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_of_Duty:_Black_Ops_II

Wikipedia is a credible source and this and that, yeah, yeah. But sounds like it would be cool. I haven't bought a COD since MW2 and haven't considered it either....

sounds interesting. its like those books where you choose the options at the end of the chapter and then it tells you where to go after that based off your choice...

I play both games on and off, but I'm just burnt out on CoD. I haven't played MW3 nearly as much as I played Black Ops. I don't think I will be getting Black Ops 2 because it seems like more of the same. Unless the game ends up being something that refreshes my interest in CoD, I will probably pass on it. I wonder if they plan to add zombies since it's in the future.... I'm sure there will be zombies in the future.

supposedly they're making zombies into a possible 4v4 scenario where your team fights against another team and zombies at the same time. or some sort of competitive thing with zombies and another team.
