The Prey demo is out: the concept of "up" and "down" is now meaningless
So I got done playing the Prey demo, and this is the most excited I've been about a game in a very long time. This is also the sickest I've been after playing a game in a long time. The portal movements are impossible to describe well enough to give you an idea of how disorienting they are. You can knock over a crate and the top is a door into a different area. If you're on one of the gravity strips, enemies can be on the floor firing up at you while you walk on the ceiling, or if an enemy is no the ceiling as well, his body will fall up after you kill him. By shooting certain pads in the levels you can change how gravity works, making for some interesting puzzles.
I almost barfed. A number of times.
The weapons have a good kick and are a blast to use, and the opening has the best recreation of a dive bar I've ever seen. Wait until the abduction scene and pay attention to the music. The demo is full of little flourishes like that.
I felt like I did when I first played Unreal on a good computer, like I didn't know what was going to happen next. Prey is a very fresh game, with a lot of interesting ideas and play mechanics. This is worth your time and bandwidth to download, and I can't wait for the full version. Unfortunately the 360 demo is a few days off, so console gamers will have to wait. Don't worry; it's worth the anticipation.

Oh god... after reading that, I definitely won't be getting it. My stomach is not like it used to be. I was playing Halo 2 and Kameo tonight with my 5 year old (soon to be) Nephew. I still feel like crap.

It has some cool features and level design. It's definately T rated.
In the end, I think its just another Doom. I'll pass.
