You seem to be forgetting that besides you and I, there's like maybe two three other people here that have ever even attempted racing on the PC.

oh. hehe. it's Nordschleife blows away anything I've seen on a console. Same goes for the force feedback effects. I'm using the Driving Force Pro (Gen 1). it's rather enjoyable.

lots of cars to choose from too - I mean not like, Gran Turismo style lots - but for a game like this, lots.

Nordschleife has some subtle differences compared to the GT4 version that I would be quite sure are more realistic. check the HQ version:

the first time I took the Saleen S7 out on Nordschleife, at the first turn that has the banking - if you know what I mean - I took it like I typically would in GT4. I turned the car over on its roof somehow. LOL. try doing that in GT4. I think you can't do that in GT5 either right.

I wasn't really considering this game because I was simply assuming my current 'puter wasn't up to the task. What kind of rig are you running it on? Acceptable frame rates I assume?

BTW, I assume you're talking about the Karussell at the 'Ring?

Yeah I took a chance on it, its fine. Well, at least in practice mode llol. In race mode with 24 cars there is noticeable fps issues but I have certain settings on High, I could turn those down and be OK. Running it on my 3 yr old laptop, C2D 2.0, 2GB, 256MB GS7900 at 1920x1200 32 bit. In race mode would have to turn the settings down but in practice mode fps is very nice.

And yeah that's what I was talking about, I don't know any of the names.

Here's a quick peek at one of the things I've been playing with. IMO, any member of this forum should involuntarily form a big shit eating grin when they hear the sound on this.

It's the Historic GT & Touring Car mod for rFactor. It's a "hybrid" mod that uses the base car models from GT Legends and then adds it's own physics, sound, graphical tweaks, etc...

From that video you posted Srika I know I would hit that fucking wall a shit load of times! I'm talking about where it forks at the beginning of the lap and turns left, but it looks like you could go either way. its about 13-15 sec in to the video...

^^^ That's were you peel off of the modern F1 track onto the old Nordschleif portion of the track. The 24 hour touring car race they hold each year basically uses both circuits joined together.

Is this put out by Simbin? If so, it's very similar to the game RacePro they just came out with for the 360. I started a thread on that, it got no love either. Sweet game though and the Radicals are a blast to drive.

Did I read correctly that this title costs only $20. I tried looking it up on Gamestop, Worst Buy, and Wally World, but none of them had listings. Srika, where did you pick up your copy at?

The rFactor version has a section about half way through the lap, before the fast downhill sweepers, where you have to back way off in order to keep most cars from catching air. Same on this one? Also the curbs are nice an usable but they have sharp drop off on the back side (by design) that easily hooks the car and sends you off the grey stuff into the green stuff.

^ most definitely - first time I hit it I took it as fast as I could.. mistake! I was like yeee-hawww. nice. and had an incident with the curbs too, although this resulted in flipping the car onto its side.. heh. beautiful track.

I have the GTR Evo in the trunk waiting to be installed and played this weekend on the G25 wheel. Problem is that my laptop is not the greatest at games. Will have to download those tracks for this weekend.

nice, I think that makes it what, 4 PC racers? Woot lol. Hopefully you can turn down the effects and get it playable. Nice on the G25, I would be interested in getting one if I didn't already have 4 steering wheels at home... LOL

When racing on line, can you fill out a field with AI cars or are you limited to humans only? I'm open to picking up this game and turning some laps with you guys but let's be honest, three cars on the track is going to get boring pretty quick.

Haven't tried it online. Probably because last time I tried racing online, it was a dismal experience. cars disappearing, jumping around on-screen, crap like that. Not saying this would be like that too, I just wasn't in any hurry to try.

Yes, you can fill the room with Ai players if you want. I rarely play online because I have been using my xbox360 on my pc instead of my wheel. It's just allot easier to set up in the evening.

PC racer here.

My current favorite is GT Legends.

GTR Evolution looks amazing, I'm ready for some modern cars, the cars in GT Legends slide around alot and are a handful to drive, but it makes it that much more involving trying to wrestle an old, raw race car around the track!

On a side note, the sounds and physics in GT Legends are top notch! The old trans am cars like the Ford Mustang and Falcon sound bad-ass, and the Porsche and BMWs scream like a banshee. It's awesome!

Since I got my new PC I've been racing with 35 cars on a track and running at over 80fps on 1920x1200, maxed out graphics, on a 26" Samsung T260HD monitor.

Now all I need is a Logitech G25 wheel, that would be much nicer than this damn keyboard.

Holy crap, there's actually like five or six of us driving on the PC? Who'd a thunk it?

Oh, and after watching about the first 30 seconds of kneedragger's second video, I'll make a confession: I use auto clutch. I can't heel & toe for shit.

I usually use the interior, sometimes the nose to increase the sense of speed.
