Coming to the Xbox360 and PC too...!

==============
Codemasters reveals new name, first screenshots, and official release window.
July 18, 2006 - Ramping up for its first appearance on next-generation consoles, Codemasters has cracked the hood a bit on its next installment of the highly successful and critically acclaimed Colin McRae series. Dubbed DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road in the US and Colin McRae: DIRT in PAL territories (due to name recognition), the game will hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC simultaneously in 2007.
Heralded to be "the most diverse title in the series yet," the game will span locations throughout the world and feature the series' trademark point-to-point races as well as a slew of off-road events. Exact locations and tracks are quite slim at this juncture, but we have been told that the entire 12.4 miles of the legendary Pike's Peak International course and all of its 150+ turns through the Rocky Mountains will be included.
In addition to its point-to-point races, DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road will also boast desert-ridden Rally Raid competitions in Dakar-style trucks and 4x4s, Rally Cross events that switch between dirt and road racing, and 850bhp heavyweight car Hill Climb challenges situated on cliff sides. Additionally, the game will offer a mode dedicated to each of the European, International and Global rally championships and will feature official 2WD, 4WD, Classic and RWD rally cars.
Lastly, while the game's multiplayer features are under tight wraps for now, we do know that it will feature online multiplayer support.
Codemasters is keeping many of the other details behind DIRT: Colin McRae Off-Road very secretive for now, but we do have a trio of screens to drool over in the meantime. Note that these are concept images as it's a little too early to show any in-game content yet, but we're told that these were created using the reference 3D models that will be featured in the game.

I am goign to be a negative nancy (did I just say that) and go out and say that I have never enjoyed the Colin McRae series on any system. I'll hold my breath for gt4 but I am sure it will look awsome

Dirt Demo
Anyone download it other than me? The graphics on this game are insane. I downloaded it this morning but didn't get a chance to play it. Just checked out the intro and had to get to work.
This game is so underrated. I was planning on getting Forza2 but forza just lacks the fun factor that Dirt has. It's also so easy to just jump into the Dirt demo and play when I have a little break in the day. The soft physics really did it for me along witht he amazing graphics. I preordered it as soon as I could get to my local EBGames.

When I first started it I was using the chase cam and I thought the controls were kinda wonky - but then I switched to the AWESOME driver's POV cam and everything just clicked. Awesome demo, will have to pick up the full game when I get the chance.
Official Dirt Thread - X360
Saw a couple demo threads but nothing "official."
Ive had Dirt for a while now and want to put in my :twocents:
Graphics - 9/10
The graphics on this game are the absolute BEST of any racer sim on the 360. Hands down, the dirt and pavement looks so real upclose thats you cant even imagine how the designers did it! The cars are wonderfully recreated with working suspension, believeable dirt effects, and interiors. The interior views (2) are perfect. You can see working gauges, co-pilots, glare, etc. I deduct from 10 only because the framerate could've been a little better. Still only somthing hardcore sim fans would notice.
Damage/Physics - 8/10
The physics of this game are decent IMO. The cars act like they rotate around a center axis. The different suspension on the different classes of cars really stand out. You can tell some real hard work went into making these cars drive like they should in the real world. The damage is the most impressive part. Every bump tears a panel off revealing the underworks of the cars. Completely detailed engines that shake with the throttle and gear changes. BEAUTIFUL! You can literally smash everything about the cars up. Shards of glass, bumpers that fall off, doors that are loose...you name it, its here.
Sounds - 9/10
The sounds are excellent. The cars sound real, the turbos sound real, the damage sounds real. What more can you ask for? If your car is damaged, it idles differently. The suspension squeeks. The environments are teaming with birds, wind, rocks, and cheers.
Overall - 9/10
EVERY different type of rally car is covered. From buggies, to trucks, to Evo's and WRX's to Semi's. All with accurate sounds, cockpits, and physics. Tons of tracks and a challenging career mode with 5 different difficulties. Despite a few drawbacks, the lasting appeal and amazing graphics, physics model, and ease of play make this one a top pick in my book, if that counts for anything
Definently pick this up if your a fan of anything simulation/racing.
