OK, already having an issue.

System specs, dell xps 3.4 ghz, 1 gig ram, x800xt graphics card (best one as of now)

I updated my drivers, now when i polay HL2, it gets to a bluirry screen and says "loading", but it stops. The computer dosent even rumble or anything so i doubt it's even processing anything...what gives !

So far it's bad ass!! GFX are awesome, game engine is awesome. And the physics are superb.

 

Fixed it, i downloaded the wrong drivers at first, but im all go now. Im at water hazard, so far so great!

wow its great, ihave a x800 series card, and im having some small issues, but the game is still amazing..

 

Well, here's hoping it'll run on my laptop. Yes, I can hear the naysayers now...But, the machine is not half-bad as it does have a 128-ATI 9700 video card and a 2GHz processor.

Otherwise, it's upgrade city for my PC.

Yeah, everything so far has been awesome for me Lovin the game! BTW, for those of you with ATI cards - get the new 4.12 beta drivers - good boost in fps to be had with them! I gained approx 10fps from the 4.10s!

I got stuck in that room with all the pipes when you are still trying to get to the one dude's lab through all the tunnels and shit...anyone got any hints?

I filled the room by opening the valve, now what?

 

go back to the other room with all the barrels in it. Swim down through the hole (follow the ladder down under water). Go through the pipe to the other side. once your there you need to break free the stuff stuck on the bottom with the crow bar. The spools floating will let you jump across.

Half-Life Source is out now - I have it loaded and installed on my PC Just DOD Source isnt ready yet...

The Screens are 1600x1200 4xAA 16xAF, everything HIGH. Runs pretty smooth even cranked like that, but I do get a studder every now and then. Biggest thing is not having the Vsync on, since I have and LCD the refresh rate is locked and would lock my fps...

omg after playing 20 mins of Half-Life 2 i felt like vomiting. I think I need to get adjusted to the game before this shit goes away. initial impressions are this shit is gorgeous (1280x1024 w/ 4xAA/8xAF everything maxed) I could go higher but my LCDs native is 1280x1024. Samsung 710T 12ms DVI-D biatch =D

 

wow, this is the first game ive bought since the first half-life and its certainly worth it. I was afraid I would need to upgrade my PC, but its running great at 1280x960 with 2xAA/2xAF. My PC is just a mildly OC'd 9700non pro and a 2.1GHz Barton so I was fairly suprised. graphics and physics are great, but so is the sound. very good surround sound and the explosions/gunshots have just the right amount of bass to make my sub kick without having too much "drone" (on a klipsch 5.1 using nvidia sound storm). and yes the gravity gun kicks ass

 

anyone else get dizzy as fuck the first time you play it?

 

Water Hazard == one of teh cooles levels EVER!!

 

Not really, but I have played alot of games so I am used to it... Also try bumping up your refresh rate on your monitor (probably not possible if you use an LCD), that might help your eyes. If all else fails, take some dramamine before you play

If i have a chioce between Doom 3 or HL2, i'd take HL2, the storyline is way better, alot more interaction, then just blowing up stuff.

The Physics of the game are amazing, pity there is no HL-2 MP

I read today that there is going to be a HL3. I just hope it does not take another 6years
