Misbehave at EA forums, bye bye games
Can they possibly try any harder to make people hate them?

"So if we ban you on the forums," the announcement read, "you would be banned from the game as well since the login process is the same. And you'd actually be banned from your other EA games as well since it's all tied to your account. So if you have SPORE and Red Alert 3 and you get yourself banned on our forums or in-game, well, your SPORE account would be banned to. It's all one in the same, so I strongly reccommend [sic] people play nice and act mature."

Banning someone from the forums is one thing.
But preventing them from playing the game is a different story.
Not to even mention, you effectively ban them from all their games.
Even If you acted like an ass on say, Spore, and get banned from that game online,
I don't think it's fair for them to ban you from say, their online racing games too.
I think, however, there is a precedent - I believe you can be locked out of Xbox live
totally if you are caught cheating at any games.

GameCyte managed to get in touch with the publisher, whereupon a representative managed to set the record straight. "Players who have been banned from EA Forums are not automatically banned from online access to their other EA games," the rep stated. "Posting in EA Forums is enabled by an EA Nucleus account—but access to the forums and access to the games are separate." Of course, it's entirely possible that gamers could still get banned from both the forums and their games, separately, but that will only occur if players breach Terms of Service in separate forums and games; this is due to the fact that each of these things are managed separately.

I remember when the Sims online first came I got banned from it. This had to have been back in 2001? It was a 72 hour banning. I was on my last warning one more ban and I would have been gone forever. Of course I got sick of the game before that happened.

Mute feature FTW... I can't tell you how many times I've practically muted EVERYBODY on my own team... played out rest of the match (COD4) and left.
