Mass Effect or Assassin's Creed....
assassin's creed looks like more fun, but not as high quality as mass effect....as if assassin's creed will get a bit old at points (less variation in gameplay/story).
but i think i would overall enjoy assassin's creed more. so that is what i would go with

I'm going w/ Mass Effect
I would go for mass effect and I haven't even played it yet. I love playing assassin's creed, but there is allot of bullshit you have to go through to get to the good bits. The game is daring me to hate it.

Aight, by tomorrow morning, the one that get the most votes gets bought. Mass Effect looks like it, so far. Keep going, guys. Thanks.
BTW, I loved Jade Empire(really good game). BioWare(ME maker) made that game too!

i have yet to play mass effect...but i have played ass-creed. The game is way to slow for me...to much talking..to much repetitive gameplay...climbing...viewpoints...climbing...the killings get boring after doing it so many times...not my thing.
hell yeah i just finesed jade empire special edition a few weeks ago will prob play again in a month or to in the "master mode"
to those who played assasins creed did you also play the prince of persia series by ubisoft the gameplay and main character looks and moves strikingly similar to the pop

Mass Effect will consume you. I don't play RPGs much, only ones I've played are Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Kotor 2, and Pokemon.
I really liked all of them, and same goes for ME. Its just a bit more dynamic because your character actually talks instead of producing a scrolling line of text. Combat is unique and more exciting than all the RPGs I've played because its kind of like Rainbow Six with spells.
And to date I've put almost 30 hours in my game!

the gamer dork at the local gamestop recommended Mass Effect to me (i dont play videogames but i was bored on a sunday). he said it was he favorite game of all time. now when somebody says that, you automatically say "wow for this guy who obviously plays a lot of videogames to say its his all time favorite, this shit must be pretty good". so i paid the 59.99 for it. came home, ate my subway sub and played the game for like 3 hours. at this point, i put down the controller cursed at ymself for wasting 60 bucks and have never turned it on again.
THAT GAME BLOWSSSSSSSSSSSSS. all you do is walk around and look for people and random shit. once in awhile you get to shoot things. theres so many different options in the conversations, you gotta go thru them all just to make sure you get all the points. GHEY

) and I'm over WWII games too...
I don't even play RPGs much. I can count on 1 hand how many RPGs I've owned+played before Mass Effect, and I don't have any extra fingers. If you're not an RPG person how do you expect Mass Effect to be any fun? I have CoD4 and kick ass at it, its fun as hell it made me quit Halo 3 cold turkey, I have not even looked at my Halo 3 disc. Prior to that I was playing Halo 3 EVERY day unless I got home really late. Even still once I got Mass Effect I didn't play anything else except for GH3 when I felt like it.
It sounds like the guy who didn't like Mass Effect never has played an RPG before and doesn't understand the concept. If you have played RPGs before and can appreciate the depth and story behind them you would play them. If you don't like Mass Effect, definitely stay away from other RPGs. 1st/3rd person shooter element in an RPG kicks ass, best I've played so far.
And no I don't play video games all day, I'm not one of those freaks with a 20,000 point gamerscore. And I've played all sorts of games, "kids" games (younger brother's), RPGs, strategy games, sports games (play basketball games once in a while, owned a MLB game and the last 5 Maddens) and I'm open to trying out new ones.
You can't really dispute taste especially with video games. You may think NBA 2K8 is the best game ever, but if you get it for someone who isn't into basketball at all...
Mass Effect is the best single player game I've ever played. A great story, and a pretty cool new world. Sometimes I just want to relax after work, and play a game and not have a bunch of 12 year olds cussing on the mic on Xbox Live after getting their asses kicked... or worse, kicking my ass.
