MAME machine
#3
Yeah.. I have the machine and the software with a whole crap load of games. I just need to build the cabinet, which I have already designed. That and order all the components.
There are a bunch of websites that are dedicated to them.
This is a pretty good one.

What is involved in getting game engines (like Sega Model 2) working? I don't remember having to do anything special for any games. But then again, I didn't really try any of the more advanced games.
I think I tried some Street Fighter version (I think MvC), and had no problems...
Last I saw, MAME supported Arcade and I think Neo-Geo games? What do you guys use to emulate other systems?
And what interface do you guys to front end the systems?

I'm trying to find a 27" TV with "Power Reset" for the MAME I'm building. Anyone know what brands besides Toshiba include that feature? My guess is that there are other brands do the same thing but call the feature by a different name.

OIC...
Besides looking for a TV with this feature, you could expand your search for TV's with a power switch that is not momentary.
Meaning the type of switch that when you press it, the button stays in, and press it again, and it comes out.
Not sure on how many new TV's would still be manufactured with those type of switches, but you might be able to find a used on that does.

if you're using a TV use a lcd, using a regular TV makes it kind of fuzzy. I have mine all set up with xarcade with MaMe 32k with over 3000 games. I wanted to set up the xarcade joystick mounted on a coffee table and hooked up to the big screen, so we can play sitting on the couch and it would be more portable that way (just move the table where we want to play it).

Ok, so I recently picked up an X-Arcade Dual controller for my PS3 to play SF4.
Since I now have the controller, I was thinking about possibly trying out MAME again, so I started searching for a front end.
I found a super cool one called Hyperspin! It can be downloaded for free but you need to register. Here is the site:

Check out this guys setup!

As you can see it is also a front end for other emulators as well!
