Linux on PS3
Has anyone installed Linux on the PS3? How does it work? What are the uses/reasons for installing Linus on the PS3? I just heard that you can do it and I want to see if it would be worth it for me.

Yeah the only benefits of running Linux on a PS3 is making it a cheap computer. The graphics capability is reduced but nearly everything else works properly.
You can use Ubuntu and a few other popular distros on it.

i am using yellow dog. the graphics are just readable. now that the latest ps3 firmware supports gmail properly, i almost never boot up the linux side lol.
id like to see someone run an encoding service on linux FTW i.e. there shouldnt be any reason that it can't rip/compress movies and put my quad core intel to shame hehe
