u have to have a hdmi port, it mostly works in just the elite because only the elite had the hdmi ports, but i think around june or july premium 360s came with hdmi ports also.

Yeah I got a premium with HDMI. Personally I think the component comes out better, but maybe its just my TV.

The Halo Edition also has a HDMI port. I tried with the components and the HDMI, HDMI is much sharper I think. I have a 32" LCD

Not sure if the X360's sold in June came with the HDMI port.

Only way to know is to check the back of your X360 to see if you have an HDMI port. If you do, then you're golden. If not, then you do not have HDMI support...

all the premiums out now should have HDMI, unless you go to some store that still has stock of 360's from months and months ago. Now the real question is if your 360 is the one with the newer 65nm falcon chip to help prevent RRoD

MadCatz, aka the same company that built that useless-even-as-a-doorstop 360 cooling fan? No thanks....

Probably just links audio and video together through a HDMI end for the TV. Doubt it does anything else.

you could have just played it with the cables you had with your xbox.
if your tv has a vga port, you could have bought the vga cables, it puts out pretty good quality.

Monster cables

What a ripoff and you fell for it. Are you one of those people that get suckered into buying those $100 monster HDMI cables when the same exact thing can be had for $5?

Here’s the exact same thing for $10

English much? are you saying that the cables I linked to or yours do 420p/720p? You do realize there's no such thing as 420p right? (SD is 480) and that all component cables do at least 720p

no wonder you spent $50 on monster components

the ones that came with the xbox go upto 720p, theres a day and night difference when you play on 480i and 720p.

Monoprice.com FTW. Monster cables are an absolute ripoff. If you think they look better, you're just trying to convince yourself because you paid 5x the price.

I ordered a 360 from buy.com which said hdmi in the product description, but I got one that didn't have an hdmi port. I found this out after I took it out of the box. I sure hope they don't charge me with extra fees to replace it.

I would call them to get a replacement. If their description said HDMI, then HDMI you should have got.

Or you could wrap your 360 in a towel and RROD it to get a new one from M$, but that just creates unnecessary amounts of work.
