HDMI for PS3.

Does the PS3 need a special HDMI cable? I have the 28awg1.3v from monoprice will this work?

Reason I ask is, I am looking on amazon and bestbuy and they have a ps3 HDMI cables. Is this just marketing hype or is their a differ bewteen these HDMI cables.

Any HDMI cable should work. With that said, I have seen some not work right out of the box ($9.99). So we bought a second that worked great ($25.99).

They work great... $130.00 for monster cables? Yeah, right...

Now Its time to save up for Ps3. I so far have $80 in best buy gift cards and my bday is coming up to. Goal is not to take any money out of my pocket.

I've seen Dell sell PS3's well under the $400 price tag. I know you want to avoid using cash but maybe you can use your gift cards to buy games/peripherals.

i bought my hdmi from local gamestop.. paid 20$ for 10ft.. the guy that worked at the store said that kids trade in their HDMI cables that came with their game systems.

i've been curious about that also. all that 24k gold plating connectors with super low resistance copper and gods pee as lubricant doesnt do anything more than the 12 dollar ebay cable?

if you are a comcast customer just swing by an office and tell them you need to swap out the cable on your HD Box or bring your SD box in, get the HD Box and return it the next day sans cable
