I still don't understand how you do it..... you have to set the same angle and everything exactly the same for 4 separate shoots, correct? how the hell do you set it all to the same specs? I mean, especially the manual camera positioning? Is it really as difficult as it seems to be? Or is there an easier way.

and, how do you set it all to the same specs, and then position the cars perfectly so you know where the other car is going to be? I mean, you're working with one car at a time, right? so how did you get them all perfectly lined up like that, without seeing the other cars in the same scene???? :banghead:

Actually, each car has a subtle change in angle. I wanted the mazda more straight on, and they angle off away from you towards the toyota. The original shot was just the Mazda. After that, I put that up on the computer screen and looked at the pic as I shot the other four cars separately. Just remember the settings and position of the camera, I shot this at the highest 33mm setting and smallest possible f stop,f22 i think. Then I actually cut out around each car. I'll post some layered shots for you later.
Just remember, I do this for a living with real, full size photos.

oh yeah... right... you suck.

and I meant the same camera angle, not the angle of the cars. I mean, it has to be pretty much perfect right... damn. I guess like anything, practice makes perfect.

Here we go...
The red outline is a 1 pixel stroke. I use it cause it hard to tell difference between
layers so similar.

1-
Drag and drop your second car onto background...

2-
Position 2nd vehicle. Reduce opacity to show original car for easier positioning.

3-
Bring opacity back up between 90-100% and carefully cut out (erase) around
2nd car. Sometimes I hide the layers to differentiate the car from foreground/background.

4-
Reduce opacity again, and carefully erase around original car. Use short strokes
so if you make a mistake and have to undo, you only undo a little at a time. Not
the whole thing. Once you do this step, you cannot reposition the car, so make
sure it’s where you want it.

5-
Bring opacity back up, remove red stroke, and clean up little details, like spoiler
and mirrors if any.
Flatten image and do the same for the next car.

You may have to rescale cars
with free the transform because of perspective.
Just practice

feel free to PM me with any specific questions

Not really, cause you need to cut out the whole car anyway. just make sure you dont change the height adjustment of the camera. Also, I picked a spot where you dont have much of a choice with camera positioning.

damn, I was afraid it would be the nitty gritty way like that... no easy outs, eh...

ok I'l have to give this thing a shot at some point. I'm no Photoshop expert but I've done my share of lasso'ing in the past.

when you save the picture - there is a dropdown menu - choose superfine. there is also a default setting to set this so you don't have to choose it each and every time, I believe it is in options, under Photo Mode.

nice, I always wonder why Ford doesn't bring those kind of cars to USA. I think they would do really well. I mean look at it, it looks pretty damn good, compared to what Ford's offering here. Hell it has a ton of Acura/Honda cues going on....

the front end looks like it was ripped off an Accord and had RSX headlight assemblies grafted on.... look at the RSX-esque curvy light things under each light!! :ripoff: As a whole, , it looks a lot like the new Legacy.

What prompted you to buy it in GT4? I didn't even know the car existed.
