SL65 now has 952 (maxed out) and just ran a 6:54.477 at the RING.

 

SL is too heavy to me for taking it to the Ring. I perfer the M3 GTR.

For those who don't have the CLK-GTR...go get it now. It absolutely shreds every car in the game.

I thought he said he has the game for a month. That means its the NTSC-J version which doesn't have this feature.

 

Yup....well not me...but my computer did! I love the B-Spec!!! I dont understand why ppl say its not necessary. It took me about 12~15 hours(using 3x speed) to wait. But its worth the wait. I also have Sauber C9, Nissan R92CP, CLK-GTR, Mazda 787B, Nissan Concept GT-R LM car, Minolta(?) Toyota 88C-V Race Car, and about 100 more cars...lol.

 

No it doesnt...NTSC-US has it??

 

The NTSC-U/C and PAL versions both have 12(?) extra cars, A/B-Spec interchange during the pit stop, selectable garage car in arcage mode and of course: English language.

2 extra months of wait time is well worth it I think.

You can also make the wheel larger(the look that is) by getting a race tire instead of the Sport. I had my RS6 fitted with RS4 tires and it looked awesome!

Aweeeee that's BS!!! Selectable garage cars in arcade???!?! I was pissed b/c Japan Ver. didnt have it!!! Do you know what additional cars are included in NTSC-U/C??

BTW, I had a NTSC-U/C Playstation 2 but it broke on me few month ago....I wish it didnt...then I could've gotten the GT4 Japan and GT4 US Version and play both.....ugh

There is another way to win the F1 car: Win the F1 championship.

Pretty much impossible to win unlike GT3, this time its like 15 endurance races combined into one series. Of course you have to beat 5 other AI F1 cars to win it...

 

Yeah...thats one of the race that I still hesitate to go play...15 endurance is too much...even for B-Spec.

 

LOL...in real life they stopped making these cars due to their tendency to flip...

I see....I want to drive Alfa Romeo, Jag, Audis and 300C. I know there is R32 in GT4 NTSC-J but dont know if it is '04 R32. Its not fair....lol

 

i see the qualification thing come up when you are in the Manufacturer One-Make championship series.

 

Unless they removed it for the western release...it should be at the right of the B-Spec icon on the pre-race menu, once again it is for championship series only.

 

and Championship races....If you play any stand-alone race(even within the Championship), you cant qualify.

 

Haha... check your sources. The CLK-GTR is NOT the Mercedes that was notorious for flipping at Lemans... that was the CLR. You can even tell from the pics you posted that those aren't CLK-GTR's - they look different. So, the CLK-GTR's were OK and did very well at the races. There was no necessary "reason" they stopped making them - the old CLK bodystye was phased out, they phased the racecar out also.

I don't think I've done any championship races yet either... hmm.

ps. a question I keep asking myself... how the hell did they manage to squeeze the entire Nurburgring, along with all the graphical details right down to the stinking GRAFFITI on the track, into the measly ol' PS2?!??!!!?!??!? I mean think about it, it's gotta load the whole track into RAM.... insane...

also - the load times on GT4 are not bad at all. I had read some horror stories at some sites about crazy long load times... I find the tracks load rather fast!!! Hell especially like the Ring, with 6 cars, loads fast as hell!!! I see some delays in options menus and other menu-type things, but honestly, it's really negligible.

anybody complete an endurance race yet? how long did it take?

 

The shortest of all has to be 150 miles @ Motegi Super Speedway, took me 45 minutes to finish with my 89' Toyota 88C-V.

 

Damn it, I just won the M challenge and right when they were about to announce me winning the M3 GTR the PS2 froze. I can't believe it... still only 8.6% though...
