I will give the 64bit OS a try, but I've never had any problems with XP home so will use that, the thing I like about it the xps 700 fully compatible with Conroe and is Vista upgradeable, so should last for some time to come.
That's a good deal IMO. The only thing is that DirectX 10 is coming soon, and it's not going to be backwards compatible with DX9. I'll probably wait another year or two before getting a new rig, and that's if I'm still into games.
Oh and Windows Vista has a MINIMUM requirement of 512mb RAM, and 1GB recommended. ANd if it's anything like games, the recommended amount won't gurantee the smoothest operation either.

Well you would think so.... but as of right now not 1 person has recieved there XPS700, and by the looks of it I won't get mine until the end of Aug.
Right now over at the XPS700/Dell fourm there are alot of unhappy people, including myself.... Dell are just playing games lieing to everyone about the real status of whats really going on.
If you order a XPS700 your looking at ALEAST 50-60day wait.... before it starts to get built.

I hope you are getting money off- as fast as PC components depreciate. When I build my own gaming rig from Newegg, I make sure all the parts will be at my house in 2-3 days. I'd be pissed if I had to wait months.
