i just learned today about the remake of Day of Defeat. i honestly liked this game more than counterstrike and halflife, im a big world war II buff and DOD made me feel like i was in Saving Private Ryan, sniping at germans with my garand. anybody amped or have any information. also how the fuck does STEAM work. does it just download to my computer, no CD or anything? Steam is pretty confusing.

 

alright i tried to preload the game via steam and its not working. dammmmmit. is this going to be in stores sept 26th or is it only available via steam. MUST HAVEE!!!!

 

You can only preload and then it will unlock on sept 26th. You may have to purchase it first before preloading though. If you bought silver or gold versions of hl2 then you got dod: source for free.

you go to steampowered.net i believe it is, and you buy a package online. Lets say its the Silver package, (i think i got that one) it came with tons of games, which are pre-loaded onto your computer.

I had it awaiting hl2 and CS source, so when it was realeased, bam, ready to play on the CPU.

Just like DOD is going to be...once its out, itll be avilable to play. For example:

mines pre loading right now, waiting to start her up....415 i believe its only multiplayer, as the single player mode is hl2.

 

game looks pretty cool. too bad i only have the bronze version of hl2, came free with my laptop. doesnt include day of defeat

 

alrite i preloaded day of defeat source and i cant FUCKING PLAY IT!!! it says its not even released yet but its already 9 o clock here and it came out at 3. WHAT THE HELLLLLLLLLL

 

im having issues as well, its downloaded, but im getting this bug error when im trying to play it, and now im getting it with CS source, problem had no occured before DOD source was downloaded.

i just rebooted Steam and IT WORKS PERFECTLY. not much lag, excellent graphics, and the gameplay is LEGIT. its a little more fastpaced than the original but the updated graphics are nice.

the funnest part is how you can shoot bodies and blood sprays everywhere. the bullet wounds are much more realistic. i shot a german running pretty close to me in the face and half his face blew off, it was pretty dope.

The game is great, very fast paced, alot more realistic, everything like CS source....

only 2 small issues ive noticed
when laying down..ppl move way to slow...
not everyone is equipped with pistols...

aside from that, i love it, just played for an hour, sound effects are 100x better then the old one...must buy imo.

 

they definately need more maps. im getting tired of playing anzio over and over, then getting switched to donner to play over and over
