I searched EBGames and could not find any Logitech product for $150.

Other than that, I have no idea what a "Logitech Pro" is, since half their stuff is Logitech Pro something.

I read that the lap attachment is pretty much worthless because of the amount of force feedback in the wheel... the review said it just twists you all over. They said it needs to be clamped down to a table. I got mine last night

Man, you guys think $150 is a lot for a wheel? That's nothing on the PC side of the fence. If you want to talk $'s, check out the rigs from companies like ECCI.

For all the Canadian peeps, I grabbed the wheel from Futureshop- but only after price matching with Tiger Direct- I think I paid one forty- and it definately needs to be clamped down..

Not overkill. Just a matter of how "serious" you are. An uber-wheel like that will definitely knock time off your laps. Many years ago, I purchased a Thomas Super Wheel and had reduced my ICR2 laptimes by almost a second within one week. Now days I'm living with one of the red Logitech Momo's.

In a real car, when do you ever use more than 180-200 worth of travel? Only when you're going REALLY slow. How many driving games are there that require you to do anything at really slow speeds except pull out of the pits or garage?

edit: at least i assume... take it out on a track with some u-turns and say you dont get more than a half turn

You got me there, but I would personally categorize a u-turn on an autocross course as a definite exception to the world of racing games. I just think 900 degrees is more of a marketing ploy than a practical feature. I've been sim-racing since Papyrus' first Indycar game and I've nver used anything that had more than 180 degrees of travel and I've been quite happy. Regardless, the current Logitech unit seems to be the way to go for the PS2. I just don't view the 900 degrees thing as having much value.

Today I told my co-workers that I had to use the bathroom, went to EB Games 2 miles from my work and got the Game and the wheel for $215, tax included. Gosh, what else will people do just to get the full experience out of this game?

I shouldn't have promised my supervisor that I'll work overtime this week...I could be playing the game right now.

so is this lap attachment a waste of money or what? if you dont buy the lap attachment then you would just leave the wheel on a table or something right?

You can attach the wheel to a table, and it's really easy to do and comfortable if you have a really small table. Kinda makes you feel like you're sitting in a go cart.

I don't know how well the lap attachment works, but if it moves at all, then I wouldn't get it because it's gonna suck.

Just an FYI, I'm pretty certain Fry's ads are regional. I've gone to my local Fry's twice after reading about deals in a SoCal ad and a Vegas ad. On both occassions, the same deals were nowhere to be found up here in Chicago. I just wanted to throw that out there before anyone outside of Left Coast makes a trip. It's probably best to call first.
