Bought a New PC (Sony L Series)

So, like...I won't lie...I ACTUALLY considered an iMac. I did. I even looked at its specs and tried it out at Best Buy...

But, then...I realized with horror what was happening...and how I have a life-long vow of never owning anything Apple. Holy fawk, what was I thinking?!??

So, I bought a VAIO L-Series All-in-One PC. I can watch TV on it and it has a nice BR player.

Cheaper than an Jobs-Fruit too.

LOL at someone hating Apple (presumably for their proprietary hardware and high prices) but then buying from Sony, the kings of overpriced proprietary junk.

^ I <3 anything Japanese.

But, I think the Sony isn't really overpriced especially with what I'm getting. I'm getting a touchscreen monitor that can also act as a TV with 1080p resolution...Blu-Ray player...

And it looks nice (very important, cuz, well, I'm shallow). Matches the decor of where the machine will be sitting.

I have both a new nice Sony and a new nice Macbook Pro...The new nice Sony is still 1/2 the cost and it still nice....Plus has a Bluray (which I never use).

Those touch screen Vaio's are awesome. Played with one at the Sony Style store and the multi touch was just amazing. Even the non tech savy person I was with got the hang of it right away. If they made it in a 46" or larger model, I'd strongly consider it.

BTW, my Vaio laptop has been going strong for over 2 years.

Touchscreen, 1080p, Blu-Ray player, and can watch TV...all out of the box.

Smokes the iMac. And at $1500CDN, the price is peanuts for what you get. Overpriced? I think not.

Yeah I personally have never had fun with Mac computers. I move the mouse a couple inches to the left side of the screen, then I get that color wheel/busy signal for about 10 minutes.

That symbol means it's waiting for the slow user.

And I'll be laughing a year from now when you get the BSOD.

I vowed I would never buy a Sony after I found out that their mini towers used a non standard size power supply that could not be found for under $150.

Been using the machine for a couple days now...not online yet because I need to pick up an antivirus...but, it's fantastic.

Can record watch/record TV shows off of cable...instantly look up scores...tune into music stations via Windows Media Center. Quite nice. And the touch screen is nice...it has "Apple"-ish features. I can turn pages, scroll, shrink/enlarge with a touch to the screen...

Blu-Ray movies also look quite nice in 1080p glory...

Again, how this is "overpriced" compared to an iMac is beyond me.

Better then Symantec. Malwarebytes is free and can also be installed with Windows Security Essentials and ran at will.

well I literally just moved the cursor to the taskbar (or the Mac equivalent... the upper right corner on the desktop?) and the computer started going into "I'M THINKING! JUST A SEC!" mode.

That computer actually froze just as often as any of the bad Microsoft-run PCs I've used. I dunno, maybe I just have good luck with PCs. I've never once got a BSOD even on my old Gateway.

Sony doesn't load too much bloatware thankfully.

Congrats on the pickup dude!

Other than not having blu-ray, I like my iMac 27".

It's running win7 in addition to OS X.
