Anyone using DSL for online gaming...

If so can anyone tell me how good or bad it is?

Has anyone gone from Cable to DSL or DSL to cable to compare?

Currently lookin for internet for the home basically just to go XBOX LIVE...any input appreciate it!

I have wireless internet from att. Its called dry loop dsl. Its not bad actually. I get about 2.5mbps dl and 434 kbps upload.

my friend went to dsl, its not too bad for xbox live. but he can't really host games.

I wonder how bad the lag is, thats the main issue. I've never had DSL

OMG This is all I do is the DSL and T-1s -Forget the Cable company-Go with the Real Phone company-Cable is a big Advertiser and that's it. Have you ever wondered how much you pay the cable co. just to advertise back to you? Were pushing 10mbps in Rochester NY, and thats not the fiber that's 20 mbps today! Quality-Jut make sure when you order to ask about the Modem it comes with as it needs to be compatable with your stuff. Thanks

I have AT&T FastAccess (formally BellSouth fastaccess).

I have the 6.0mbps option, but it sure as hell is more expensive than $35.00, I think I'm paying $42.99 for mine. I think its called "Extreme" 6.0 here

Its pretty good for online gaming, but I would switch to Cable if my cable provider didn't suck so bad.

the upload speed is your limiting factor, especially when it comes to speech.

but I would go with the pro plan.

Is Verizon FIOS available in your area?

I dont think so, how do i find out?

Im trying to keep it within the $40 budget, isnt FIOS pricey?
