Out of curiousity, I priced one out today...HOLY FARKING FARK. You'd think these things were made of platinum.

You can build the exact same PC (minus the case) for thousands less. Same with Alienware or Dell XPS. Personally, I have never had one but I've been building my own since I was 13 and the constantly hit or exceed the performance #'s from PC Gaming Manufacturers.

Ok I looked at their top of the line base model with just the default parts (yes I am bored) and it came out to be $7,440.57. So I looked up all the parts and got rough estimates on the parts and it came up to be...

600 watt madular power supply $154.95
Microsoft XP Pro $133.00
M2n32SLI DLX/Wireless Motherboard $247.00
AM-2 CPU Cooler $64.99
Cosair 2gb TwinX DDR2 8500C5 W/Epp $489.72
4GPU's 2x nvidia geforce 7950 GX2 2048 $2276
BFG PhysX Accelerator 128mb $269.99
Seagate 400 16mb SATAII (2) $200.00
Sony 16X DVD-Rom $60.00
Sony DRU820A DUal layer dvd +-/RW $99.99
Klipsch Promedia Ultra 5.1 $299.99
corsair flash voyager 256mb USB 2.0 $22.99

= $4315.67 (only thing I wasn't sure about was it said 4 GPU's so I took the GPU price and times it by four. I am not familiar with GPU's so I am not sure if the card itself is considered 4 gpu's like Pentium D is considered 2 processors or are there physically 4 seperate GPU's)

So your looking at a difference of $3124.90 basically for the case/Labor both of which technically you can make your own case and do your own labor.
Plus I am sure if you look around you can get these devices cheaper.

Well, you have to add the cost of the warranty and Falcon is famous for its' paint jobs. But still you are paying for convenience, name and factory protection. They also are supposedly really good at doing really nice wiring, which not too many people can do right. But it's still too much.

Yeah, you pretty much got it right with the GPU's. Each graphics card will have one GPU except nVidia now has a card with two GPU's on each card.

Anyways, you're paying a lot for that warranty and technical support. It's not worth it IMO
