I finally got my XBOX360 yesterday. I got a call around 4pm from Gamestop in Orlando saying that my system came in and is ready for pick-up. I'm in Ocala with family about 1hr and 25 mins away. I asked him can he hold it until Monday. He said they aren't allowed to hold it no more than a day. I said dam but whatever. I told him I'll be there in a hr or two. So I drove all the way back to O-town got it. Went to my apt hooked it up on my flat screen tv to check it out. I popped in Perfect Dark Zero and all I can say is WOW! The sound and grafix are amazing. Remind you I preordered my system in July 10th which they promised me the system on launch date. I got it now so I'm happy.

I'm just going to wait until it's readily available in stores and just pick it one day like every other heterosexual male.

I look forward to some of the FPS's and XBOX Live.

I got mine about 10 minutes ago at my local Target. They had two when I got there at opening and I think another guy took the other one when he saw me buying one. However, Ive heard that they keep some in back and bring them out in pairs. Go check your Targets!

P.S. build date of 12-3-05 came with media remote.

I was #5 on the list and pre-ordered it August.. They got 4 in Yesterday..

Called today to see if by chance someone didn't pick theirs up.. They tell me one person hasn't picked theirs up nor has called them back after 3 attempts. They say to call them back tonight before they close and they'll let me know if I can pick mine up tomorrow (48 hour pick-up for pre-orders).

Well I got a call at work saying the guy called back and is out of town and can't pick it up and that I can come pick it up.. Just got off work and picked it up.. Hooking it up now..

Yea, but there is a lag issue, but it is one of the most intense single player games ever. I heard PD Zero is pretty good online too.

Call of Duty 2 is a great game but like Silver said there is a big time lag issue. But if you get host and you have a good connection its fine. Need for Speed Most Wanted is pretty good, fun to play, totally unrealistic, and you can race online. PGR3 is a real good game, bunch of cars, graphics are great. I also have madden 06 which is good if you look football but they really rushed it i think.

Also, i waited 16 hours on line at Best Buy a few weeks ago when they got there 2nd shipment in so thats when i got one. But i pre-ordered from Ebgames in july and there 2nd shipment finally came in on thursday and they called me telling me i could pick it up, i was like #25 on the list. So right now i have an extra 360 haha. I'm gunna try to sell it to one of my friends for at least $550. Make a profit, same up for some mods.

when you guys say "lag," you're talking about the online gaming, right?

Some CoD2 rounds are fine, others are unplayable, just waiting for some sort of update/patch.

I raced online in Need For Speed MW. It was actually pretty cool. When you set up a match, you can turn on performance matching...then use your career car. I thought it was fun, and there really weren’t that many lag issues either. :thumbs up:

Without having a Media Center PC, how do you hook the 360 up to your computer?

Hey, for those of you guys that play 360 online... I need your opinion... so, my set up is actually really close to the wireless router... I think it's about 10 feet away with no walls in between... I don't mind paying $100 for the wireless unit, but a cheaper way to go would to just buy a broadband router, which I already did, and it's still unopen, it was $50 with a $30 rebate... so really only $20.

here's the thing... I noticed on the box (of the broadband router), it comes with a set up wizard disc... which means my roommate will (probably) have to download on her Mac... I'm kinda lazy like that, I don't want to bother her about it...

...would it be just more hassle-free to return it, and get the wireless unit?

...if this makes any sense to anyone, thanks you in advance for your input...

(FYI, the Motorola wireless router we have right now only has one output, which goes to my roommate's Mac)

What brand roter is it? Most are plug n play and don't require any downloads..

Setting up security and other things would be simple without loading any software also.

I bought the wireless adapter for the 360 so I have my other XBOX wireless adapter for sale..

Sorry about that. I don't own NFS:MW, but I have the demo and played it a few times a my friend's. I didn't realize there was an online mode. Thanks for the heads up.

You need the 360 connected to a router which your PC is also connected to. You then need to install Windows Media Connect on your PC (it needs to be an XP PC).

Once you run it, it will recongize your PC and you can stream music or show pictures on your 360. If you have a Media Center PC, you can do a whole lot more (record TV, stream videos, etc..)

Is the game scratched? I heard that the 360 can cause scratching of discs if you move it from vertical to horizontal (or vice versa) while it is running. Otherwise, not sure as I haven't heard of this specific issue.

if your other games are working, but madden isn't, return it for a new one.

If all your games arent doing so hot, call ms for a new xbox.

Yeah its just madden. I havent moved it at all while games have been running in it. The game isnt scratched at all, its weird. I guess maybe i could try and return it to Best Buy but who knows with them. Otherwise, i absolutely love my Xbox 360. Cant wait for more games to come out.

okay, the set up is like this:

cable---> Motorola modem/wireless rounter (it's ONE unit, but only has one Ethernet port)--->my roommate's Mac AND my laptop wirelessly

...so basically I need to either get the wireless adapter, OR... use a wired broadband router (by Linksys, see picture below) and squeeze my 360 in there... but I notice on the box, it says that it comes with a setup wizard CD, does that mean my roommate will have to download that something in her Mac? I mean... if it's all plug and play AND doesn't require anything done to her Mac... I'd rather just go that route, since I've already purchased the Linksys unit... (not to mention, this is a lot cheaper route)

...I rather just not have to have my roommate do anything to her computer (plus she's out of town right now).

You can connect and USB device to the 360 to stream music or photos. You can attach an iPod and it will automatically recognize it and allow you to stream songs off it, and you can attach any digital camera to the 360 to show photos on the TV. The only thing XP allows you to do are those 2 activities, so you won't miss much if anything by using a Mac.

I tried to connect my iPod...and it recognized my songs but they all had that red do not disconnect circle and would not play. Any ideas what the problem is? It wasn't a big problem since I ripped quite a few of my CD's to the hard drive.

It looks like you need a firmware download to get your iPod to fully function streaming music to the 360.

Here is a page with more details:

More details here:

Thank you...I will mess with this when I get home.

I tried the Windows Media feature and was not successful. The only thing I can think is that my network is to slow. I am planning on upgrading my router and bridges. Do they have a gaming adapter that has two outgoing ports so I could connect my PS2 and 360 to the same bridge?

just use router. I got my internet through router and i can view pics, and music through media conect. I put cuztum pics on wall paper on 360 and all. listen to music while playing games and all. but....

no vids and other cool stuff without WINDOWS MEDIA CENTER PC.

So my friend, you will need to have your 360 connected through a router. Its just like if you were to have a home netowork.

If you click on the WINDOWS MEDIA option on your DASHBOARD, it will give you steps and tell you were to go, to get this Windows Media Connect. This is just to setup your 360 with your network. I repeat again. No vids and other cool stuff without windows media center pc. But pics and music good to go.

Hold on, are you pressing the actuall play button on the IPOD or are you going through the DASHBOARD? Mine was fine. I went to the MEDIA blade (i think its called, i think its the blue one) and selected music, then you see your ipod name there. And waalaaaa. it shows you your songs.

But if when you open the ipod, and the songs are showing red in the dashboard, then you do need the firmware like it was posted here..

Good luck.
All i want now is a FREE copy to upgrade my pc to Windows Media Center PC. I tried lime.. but no luck. anyone? pm? pleeease!!!!?

No, I left my iPod alone and tried to access my music through the dashboard. It recognized my play lists and my songs, but the songs had the red circle. I have the iPod video, so I think it is just not compatible and I need firmware. Since I just ended up ripping some of my CDs, it has been a non issue.
