“it looked like a disneyland version of nepal,” says thompson. “the biggest realization for me was just how much reach the western world had over there. I came back and looked at the game and said, ‘s--- we’ve made a 17th century version of nepal.’ they have billboards everywhere of lg electronics and this tuborg lager, which is like like the s---iest beer in the world. And angry birds – it’s just everywhere. It was almost guaranteed that one out of three people would be wearing a piece of angry birds merchandise. My translator said they don’t even know what it is. They don’t have smart phones; they just like the look.”

ERRRRMMRRRRGGGRRRRRRRRDD!!!!
I love this game.
I loved Far Cry 3 minus the stupid Jason Brody/girlfriend story.
This game just adds to that in pretty much all the right ways.
For those that have played FC3, the new pieces include... my favorite, the grapple hook.
You can find ledges with rope ties that you can throw your grapple to. It is a pretty basic way to get up scripted cliff sides but the fun in them is when you get to swing from cliff to cliff. Or rappel down a hole into a thieves den. I have also been able to use it to climb out of reach of a tiger.
There is added mobility in Ajay that we didnt have with Jason Brody. While sprinting the left stick can be used to side step obstacles where as before you had to look in the direction you wanted to run. The wing suit is an early feature you can purchase in at stores. As well, grenades can now be upgraded to stick and that can be found in the same menu.
One downfall is the game now sets up specific side arms and a side arm slot on your weapons wheel. Meaning you are forced to use at least one side arm.
They did this because this side arm is equipped while carrying bodies and driving so they had to make a specific slot for that I suppose. I use the one handed grenade launcher which easily takes down convoys while Im driving.
A lot more animals. Many more predators to attack you. They added throw-able bait in the game to attract predators or get them away from you.
Another big change is the karma system. You gain karma for things like saving hostages to even getting clean animal kills verse torching them or using an AR.
The story gives you choices, for example; save a village or gain intel from a camp. These choices do have outcomes and also give more replay to the game.
I have not tried co op yet but will soon once my buddy feels caught up with upgrades so I'll report back on that when I give it a go.
Many many many more side quest. But good ones. Not stupid shit like save the suicide pact couple from komodo dragons. They quests range from bomb diffusing to armored truck runs to filmed races and gladiator arena type battles.
This game is a lot of fun and as I said pretty much just added to a game I already loved.
I have no interest in the season pass as FC3's SP only gave me like 3 missions for 30 bucks. Fuck that jive.
