I wonder what their character was for them not to get killed. I played about five hours, then went back and restarted and it was hard as shit. I really like the concept of both Morrowwind and Oblivion, but getting killed every two minutes killed it.
As it is, I won't have time to go back and play it before this comes out. As always, November is going to be tough on the wallet.

I'll start by saying, Oblivion was a game that changed games for me. I wasn't keen on the whole "magical" & "fantasy" BS, but this game sucked me in. Unlike most games, its a completely evolving masterpiece that unfolds to however you play it.
Don't like spells and magic...don't use it.
The sheer size and way the game pans out is astonishing. Its almost like playing real life, as wierd as that sounds. I was watching some Skyrim videos the other day, and it was almost haunting. The ambient noises and music alone make me want to play it for hours...
Anyway....
"Preparing for a new Elder Scrolls game is like preparing to die. One must ensure they get all their worldly affairs in order, speak with the people who mean everything to them, and have a final meal. After all, once that disc goes in, the user may as well have departed from our mortal world. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a game that will murder you, for the time it steals from your life could rightfully be considered criminal. It is a game that will literally never end while simultaneously bringing you closer to your own end.
This is all before the dragons show up." - Game Informer
^^ Completely true statement. This will be my winter game. I would suggest that some of you should try it if you haven't.

Classic Elder Scrolls....
I'm watching though most of the video above and at one point there is a puzzle on a door. To solve the puzzle you have to match up symbols on a revolving key. They pattern is found by killing an enemy previously, searching him, stealing a "claw" and then closely inspecting the claw in your inventory.

I played Oblivion for a while but got bored of it. In sandbox-style games where you're free to do whatever you want I usually do all or most of the side quests first then finish the main story (GTA, Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect, etc.) but eventually I got bored of it and started pissing off the guards in towns. Couldn't take them on my own so I'd just run into my guild house and watch the guildies defend me
anyway, I'm still thinking of picking this up. BF3 is taking up a huge chunk of my free time but the game looks so interesting

I'm the Firestarter
What are you playing on? My PC was super fast for Oblivion but now it has a somewhat outdated CPU (Q6600). Just wondering how this game will run.

I've got spurs...
I am in the same boat. Between Arkham Asylum, BF3, reading and school I'm already spread pretty thin. However, I still want this game. I think I'm gonna hold off for a "game of the year" edition.

Be prepared to spend hundreds of hours in it. You can play in so many different ways.
You can go around and hack at things with a sword, use magic spells, snipe at unsuspecting people with a bow and arrow, pickpocket, break into houses, join the military or join the rebellion. YOU can be a decisive factor in the world, if you wish. The game is all about your decisions.
