spying on me..hahhaha its ok, pretty easy so far.
i died once already because i initiated an attack on a boss but as the bar was filling up i needed to use a potion instead. didnt know how to cancel it until after i had died

I'm 4 hours in... and yeah. Its super-duper linear. Not necessarily a bad thing as its kind of necessary to tell a story of this sort of magnitude.
Vanille's voice acting (imho) is annoying, but I think its more because her character type doesn't translate well into the English language. Happens all the time when Animes get english dubs - the perky upbeat characters from Animes (think Shinobu from Love Hina) get terrible voice acting as those types of characters are kind of hard to understand outside of JP culture.
On a side note - My GF also thinks Lightning is hawt. Wants to "cosplay" her for next halloween.

you're not the only oneAnd so far, I love the game. The way the story plays out with the game reminds me of the Metal Gear Solid series.
It makes me wish I actually played out FF VIII when I got that for the psx a long time ago. I enjoyed what little time I put in, but couldn't get used to all the menus and stuff.
And Vanille's accent is weird, kind of a mix between british and southern
