If you are like me and grew up listening to Anthrax, Testament, Megadeth, etc, even if your tastes have changed, you will LOVE this game and all that it represents!!!

Jack Black as the lead character, hilarious as ever, in the style of Tenecious D? Check

Cameos by Ozzy, Lita Ford, Lemmy, and other icons and idols from the scene? Check

AMAZING soundtrack that you can listen to at your leisure (while you drive around running over animals and demons, no less) Check

In addition to that, the game is just flat out FUN!!! Its well designed, plays smoothly, has a great sense of humor, gore, graphics, gameplay mechanics, etc. Playing guitar solos to melt peoples faces or "drop a duece" never gets old.

I was skeptical about this game but after reading stellar reviews, went out and bought it last night and its every bit as good as i could have hoped.

Its got very fun combat, driving, exploration, puzzle solving, real-time-strategy elements, ALL in a super fun and well polished package. not much more you could ask for in a game!!

 

This does sound fun...going to look into it.

The PS3 demo is funny and easy to play, my wife loves it.

 

It does get a little harder, im about 3 hours into it now. It isnt some kiddie game (obviously, with all the smoking, cursing, dismemberment, drinking, etc!!). The stage battles are pretty fun, its like a real-time-strategy game built into a sandbox-open world exploration combat game. pretty cool stuff.

there just isnt anything quite like driving around in the Duece, listening to Def Leppard "Rock of Ages" while mowing down bad guys and running over deer and porcupines, hahahaha.

 

Fail.


Smoking, cursing, dismemberment, drinking, old school boss battles, sandbox style combat game, a soundtrack with no gay songs and/or rap...all the best stuff in the world rolled into one game.

That sounds sooooo fun. I honestly think this just got moved up on the list over Uncharted 2 .

 

I had my mind set on Uncharted 2 as well....for now, thats on the backburner...I mean i loved Uncharted 1 and will definately buy/play U2, but for now, i want no other game than Brutal Legend!!!

Time to get back to it and play the sweet "drop a duece" guitar solo, hahahaha.


i really hate to spoil any moments of this game for anyone, its so hilarious...it plays into every stereotype of 80s metal heads....bad mullets, jean jackets, you name it, its hilarious

 

I hate Jack Black quite a bit. Back when this game was announced I considered checking it out until I heard about Jack Black doing voice work.

So is the game still worth it? inb4 "How can you hate Jack Black?"
