Halo 3 help...

Just picked up Halo 3, went to play online, and I got an error message something about NAT not being open, and it took well over 5 minutes to try and connect to a game (then I had to go back to work)

I have all the ports forwarded (3047, 88, 53) and for some reason, i dont know what the heck is going on. I am gonna upgrade the firmware when i get home, but this still puzzles

Any insights?

Open the right ports to your xbox.

UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074

Also, make sure you're on a static IP for your xbox360 so you don't run into the xbox using a different IP than you're port-forwarding to.

The shear amount of new weopons is awesome. Especially the hammer. I was clobbering guys so bad and they'd go flying!

Which Halo 3 Version did you buy?

My brother-in-law and I were surprised to see how many people purchased the Legendary Edition of Halo 3.

So I thought I'd start a poll to see what you guys bought...

I haven't yet, but I will be getting the standard. I never understood why limited/legendary ect editions sell so well. I really doubt all the people buying them are planning on sitting on them for 20 years or sticking MC's head in a glass case, and even then how much can they make on a game that is a blockbuster? I thought most of the games that are worth money now were the ones that were great, but didn't sell as well.

Anyone that played the campaign and got to to the 2nd level, did you hear the hilarious conversation between two of the soldiers? One of the soldiers was trying to get a door opened, and the solder behind the door wouldn't open it. So the solder outside the door was getting annoyed at the other soldier because the guy though a grunt was behind the door.

It was friggin hilarious.

I think I noticed that when I played the beta. it was annoying. Why have a video feature if you can't control the video.

Halo 3 Screenshot Thread

I figure we should have a thread to put all of our screenshots in, just so all the images are located in once place. I lowered the res on mine to 1280x720 so they would fit on most screens.

I'll start off with a few from the campaign:

cool explosion with the bubble shield:

About to be executed

bringing the pain...

scenic view

'Halo 3' Packaging Scratches Disks

`Halo 3' Packaging Scratches Disks

By JESSICA MINTZ
AP Technology Writer

SEATTLE (AP) -- Within hours after die-hard fans finally got their hands on a copy of "Halo 3," blogs brimmed with reports that special limited-edition packaging is scratching the video game disks.

Microsoft Corp., which owns the studio that makes "Halo 3," responded quickly on its Xbox Web site with details for a replacement program. Customers can fill out a form and send in their scratched limited-edition disks for a free exchange through the end of December.

A Microsoft spokesman and a member of the company's outside PR firm did not immediately respond to calls and e-mails from The Associated Press requesting more information.

Microsoft is selling the limited-edition version, which comes in a tin decorated with the "Halo 3" logo, for $70. A regular copy of the game costs $60, and a "legendary" version, which comes with a replica of the helmet worn by game protagonist Master Chief, costs $130. The game officially went on sale early Tuesday.

Richard Mitchell, the lead writer of the Xbox 360 Fanboy blog, said one of the disks that came in his limited-edition set is scratched but the damage didn't seem to interfere with its playing.

The AP received several review copies of "Halo 3" in limited-edition tins. Both the game disk and an "essentials" disk had come loose from plastic housing designed to keep them in place. The game disk had been scratched but seemed to work fine.

Microsoft has been plagued by Xbox 360 problems in recent months. In July, the software maker said it would spend more than $1 billion to repair broken Xbox 360 consoles, and in August it disclosed that some Wireless Racing Wheel game controllers were overheating and smoking.

Since its launch, the Xbox 360 has outsold Sony Corp.'s next-generation PlayStation 3 console, but it hasn't been as popular as Nintendo Corp.'s Wii. Investors and analysts are watching whether Microsoft can turn a profit in the division that makes the Xbox 360. Microsoft, which expects to hit that milestone in the current fiscal year, has said "Halo 3" is one part of its strategy for reaching that goal.

All of you guys that have Halo 3 or get it in the future, be sure to login/create your profile over at bungie.net

After you do that, do a search for the group "AcuraZine" and join up.

I'll also be creating the "AcuraZine" Clan tonight, I'll keep you guys posted about that. The group on bungie.net and the clan are two SEPARATE things.

Info about Clan Support.

Doesn't look like Halo 3 supports clans!!!!

http://www.2old2play.com/News/Halo_3..._And_Longevity

I'll check the game when I get home.

There is the hope that this is true:

http://www.megatonik.com/2007/09/14/...box-live-soon/

Supposedly the xBox live Dashboard supports clans for Halo 3.
