03 CLS 6sp VS. 03 G35 sedan 6sp

We were next to eachother at a red light on a two lane road that merges together a quarter mile up the hill. We both agree to hit it when the light turns green.
I good buddy of mine has a stock 2003 infinity G35 sedan 6 speed rear wheel drive. Im driving my 2003 CL-S 6 speed with XS Power headers and a three-hundred-pound-fat friend in the passenger seat.
We both punch it, I was shifting at 7rpms. That boast we get around 5rpms-7rpms pushed me ahead where my stearing wheel was aligned with the front of his car. When i shifted he caught back up and we were neck in neck the whole way. My side of the road had to merge into his so I was forced to brake and get behind him.
after we were driving the speed limit a cop came in the opposite direction, it was great timing.
I know I could have gotten ahead of him if i didnt have that extra weight in the car. It was good times!

At worst The G35S 5AT should run even with the TL-S. The slowest G35 is probably the G35X which tends to post mid-14 1/4 mile times. (The grannys at Road & Track posted a 14.4sec@96.5mph with their X.) The G35S 5AT should be a hair quicker.

If you had those 19s on at the time that'd probably slow you down quite a bit more

Yes I had my 19's on but my friend bought his infinity with aftermarket 18's. I have no idea what type of wheels he has, neither does he...they are pretty damn ugly though and look heavy

*and i dont have my comptech icebox installed yet unlike my sig says

I can tell a huge diff in power with my 19's and heavy system, so that didnt help at all.

I bet I'd be hard pressed to run high 14's as my car sits right now, so dont feel bad about not being able to beat him. The VQ35 is a very strong engine, plus the G35 is lighter right off the bat.
