Need an EXCELLENT DETAILER
Need an EXCELLENT DETAILER
I posted this in the detailing forum too but I figured you guys may know more as you're from Chicago.
I'm located in Romeoville, Illinois and I need a good detailer. The dealership scratched my brand new car with approximately 25 scratches and they tried to buff them out originally and now I'm hoping there's enough clear coat left to buff. Does anyone know of a detailer in my area, prefer as close as possible, that can take a look at it and tell me straight up if the scratches can be removed? Other wise, I'm either stuck living with them or getting a paint job. The scratches range from my driver side rear quarter panel to trunk, rear bumper, and passenger side rear quarter panel.
I thought about going to ZTech in Aurora/Naperville as they're a detail center and did an excellent job on my window tints on my Civic. However, window tints and paint detailing are completely different so I don't want to make a bad situation worse. I'm planning to go to Collision Revision down the street for me because they have done body work on my moms car and it came out excellent. At least get an opinion and see if they can buff it. If not, I need a true detailer.
Below are pictures of my scratches and the car in general. Note: The scratches that look like rock chips were scratches and appear to be gone after their initial buffing. At least they did something right. The images below only show the quarter panels but the trunk and bumper have a couple but nothing as bad.

The dealership offered a paint job at their shop but they told me it will never look the same. Knowing their history, I believe it and paint is almost impossible to get perfectly. So I got a nice Wing free of charge.

I would look into http://www.simonsshineshop.com/ for detailing they also have a body shop onsite.
If you are looking for a repaint, look at http://www.yelp.com/biz/a-and-l-autobody-palatine its a little bit out of the way but these guys are IND and if you are familiar with the BMW community they do a lot of great work.

Thank you.
I'll check out that detailer if needed. I took my car to the local body shop (Collision Revision) who has done excellent work for my mother. The guy looked at it and said all of those scratches should be removable with a good buff job and to bring it back during the mid-afternoon hours. They will have a body professional look at it and buff it out properly if possible.

How did this turn out? I'm looking for a good detail shop too and I'm locate in the northwest part of Chicago. I'll probably just use them for car washes. My paint is trashed due to my own neglect and improper washing.
I plan on tackling the most difficult projects myself after learning about proper car care on DetailersDomain, Autogeek, and DriveClean, but I almost never have time to give her a proper wash.
