Has anyone ever got their transmission rip apart to get this done? My car is in McGrath in Westmont about to get this TSB done. I know I should have asked before taking it in but I was going to get this done regardless of results. So any feedbacks? I've been reluctant to take it in but figured its best to get this resolved then having it bite me in the ass in the future.

3rd gear tsb. acura doesnt open up and go into the trans. they just replace it with a reman one. they could have just put in an 3rd gear jet kit.

what the hell is a 3rd gear jet kit? i thought the trans need to be taken apart in order to put the 3rd gear set?

autos dont have gear, we have clutch packs. oil jet kit was supposed to prolong the transmissions life, didnt work out too well. never heard of a dealership taking apart the trans. i have a good friend that was for an acura dealership (not the one ur at) and all they do it take the old trans out, put a reman trans from acura in and send ur old trans to get rebuilt

i think were talking about two differnt TSB then. There is a TSB out for 04-08 3G TL 3rd gear synchros for manual transmissions.

^oooo i see. wasnt sure what car u were talking about.

its a common problem, from what i know, still cant fix it completely. but use gm synchromesh trans fluid. heard that it helps a lot with the synchro problem
