Zoom Zoom Live!

Wow, just got back from the one in Hialeah, FL today. How cool was that! Got to drive an RX-8, MX-5 Miata, 3, and 6 on different courses.

(Also met Leon, an H22-CL owner on the board! Super cool!)

the 8 was amazing. that engine was dying to jump out of the bay and let loose, but I could only keep it in second on the course we were on.

the 5 was pretty sweet too, but by the time I got to it, tires were complete shot (slicks baby) so there were some traction issues. It was still a fun car to drive though!

the 3 was hella fun. I've driven it before, and I still love it. However, it felt kinda weak after driving...

the 6! If I had to sell my CL right now and get a new car, I'd get a MT Mazda6. That was my favorite car of the day, I'd have to say. They didnt have one there, but boy would I love to drive one of those new Mazdaspeed6's...

Overall just a fun day! If theres a ZoomZoom Live speed event in your area, sign up and hit it up!

Cool. I went to the Mazda rev-it-up event a couple of years ago here and it was fun. I was completely underwhelmed by all their cars.

I couldn't do the golf ball challenge for nothing!
Good time though!

had a lot of fun at this event this past weekend, well worth the wait of the lines. the new Miata is awesome fun! RX8 was a lot of fun too. it was my first time racing with cones. having had considerable time racing at a roadcourse, racing with cones was kinda annoying. but I wasn't complaining. we were surprised the majority of cars were manual - typically these events only have autos. Mazda. Although it increased my awareness of Mazda vehicles, having never driven any of these before - I can't say I'm interested in getting any of em - driving the Miata just made me realize I really like the S2000... lol.

some pics:

they had a little GT4 display with Miata's... unfortunately all the equipment was beat to hell and felt like ass. the force feedback wasn't even working.

Like the Taste of Lexus event, the Zoom Zoom event was incredibly crowded. I only ran the matched time in a pretty powerless Mazda3 and posted a 26.57 ( I dont know if that's good or bad and dont really care.)

It seems like everyone and their brother have caught on to these types of events. That said, Taste of Lexus and Mazda Zoom Zoom Live will be added to my list of 'Things I'll never do again because it's too damn crowded', right behind Great Adventure (which I havent gone to in 15 years) and Disney World.

Fortunately, since we were at Etown we left the Mazda event to run some time trials instead.
