Yumcha Buys Car, Arrives After World Ends, Abuse of Vehicle Ensues

Did she get a car yet? i cant see any pictures. Could she find actually find any cars to buy?
I drove by local Mercedes dealer and there was only about 20% of the normal inventory on the lot... if i didnt know i would think they are going out of business.
It was so bad they put some of their commercial sprinter in the front as place holders

As I posted, she ordered the Hyundai OptimaS5 from the factory. ETA October from Hyundai's Audi factory in Germany.

I guess I should post it here as an "update":
So, it should come as no surprise that I've had a string of WTF-luck with the car that last couple of weeks...The crazy thing is, with Trumpvid-19 pandemic, I've basically barely drove the car but 4 weeks ago, I had to head to a site for an all-day meeting on a Friday. Came home, headed out on Saturday just for some air/errands with family. 5 minutes into the drive, low-tire pressure light comes on, MMI tells me it's the driver-side rear. Stop at a gas station, pump in some air...keep driving...go home. Next day, check the car, low-pressure. Son of a gun. Take it in to stealership, after inspection, side tear...likely from driving over a pothole. Fork over the cost of a new Continental tire.
The week AFTER (3 weeks ago). Another meeting, Thursday this time...head out...come home. I do recall driving over a pothole that I spotted too late (and BTW, the city I live in have some terrible roads because of the back-breaking winters). And maybe because I'm and can't drive, okay?!? Weekend hits, want to go visit my Mom...low-tire warning...FRONT driver's side. WTF...take car to stealership, tell them that I want to just swap them out for my summers since the snow is pretty much more or less gone at this point. Diagnosis: Tear on this tire too. Replacement. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
Monday. I take day off. Take care into detailer for the spring cleaning and re-touch of the ceramic sealant...Pick up the car and on the way around town for errands since day off, LOW TIRE LIGHT blinks again. PASSENGER FRONT. I let out a shriek of rage worse than seeing the new 7-Series...
Take the car in to stealership again...nail in the tire...at least no replacement.
I'm going to go sacrifice a goat now.

That is what happens when you have AWD... i heard you could only get nails in the rear if you had RWD
But tears on tires is rare... 2 in 2 weeks on 2 different tires is even more rare. You sure there is no one fucking with you cuz you are ?

I read that low-profile wheels have this vulnerability. Anyways, I guess destruction/abuse of the Hyundaudi Optima continues.

No. From their assessment, they are from the awful potholes littered everywhere...not someone who slashed my tires. I park in staff parking that is gated and underground and with security for when I go in for meetings and etc. So, it's not from those.

Maybe it is time to get some winter wheels/tires that have taller sidewalls. (for next winter)

I mean, my CL-S' rimes were not as wide and I think the roads back then here were not as bad. Budgeting and etc. and harsher winters with some insane temperature swings (from freezing to -20F and lower from week-to-week) may have made the roads particularly awful this winter. I mean, I had this car before the pandemic and drove it daily to work even through a brutal first winter of ownership and no issues.
I am unsure what to make of all of this but 3 wheel issues -- 2 of which were replacement tires -- in such a short sprint is nutbar.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how big your sidewalls are (aside from off road tires or something), the massive craters we have for pot holes in the tundra will eat them for lunch. Yummy should be thankful he didn't have to buy some new rims at the same time. #optimism

Well he could use something like 255 55 17 or something like that... it would help for sure. and Ugly of course
But yah dont think it will fit over his brake tho.
#1834
Yeah, guessing the 17's wouldn't fit over the brakes... My car definitely won't do 17's and even most 18's won't fit either.
Jeep rolls on 315/70/17. It doesn't give a shit about potholes.

They bought me a new tire but I left that brand behind and have had nothing but great luck since. My current favorite NOT retarded priced wheel is the Firestone Indy500...sidewall is forgiving but
they LAST, they PERFORM and they are QUIET.

And no, I'm not BoostedJack enough to buy a 3rd vehicle.
