Hmm personally I like BMW better plus apparently MB's reliability is crap. Plus I think the 330ci looks sweet.

and isn't the 05' SLK the older style? maybe if it was the new style...

...also, doesn't it rain a lot up there in Portland? You probably wouldn't drive with the top down much anyway. Now, if you live by the beach... maybe

Bimmer. SLK is a trophy wife car and the 350 branding on the back just screams "tool"

I share the girlie car concerns, but it is 43 more HP, hardtop convertible, 7 spd auto, and C&D's "Best luxury sports car". Also, this is the new style, tho I'm not sure I'm fond of the big nose.

OTOH, the 330 with the performance package is understated, yet mean looking. I can imagine throwing a blower on it and easily making it a 13 second car.

Jeezus christ who gives a fuck if women buy it. What is with tying one's self-image of masculinity to gender stereotypes?

If VW Eos was the best hardtop convertible for the money, I'd buy one ... Or a Miata ...

I'd get the BMW. I like it because it's I think it looks better and it's bigger.

not taking relaiability into the picture (cause I really don't know much about either)

I'd probably take the SLK, but maybe owning a convertible in hawaii would be different from owning one in portland.

I've always found the 3-series to be way too common. and being an older model, it'll look older faster. Although there's nothing wrong w/ an older looking BM. They do seem to go from new to classics rather than out of style.

I'm mostly a Bimmer guy and not too partial to M-Benz. The new SLK's are definitely better than the original ones but I would still prefer the 330Ci coupe if we're talking about a daily driver here. I'd look for an 06 which was the final year of the E46 coupe style.

FYI Consumer Reports shows A LOT of negativity with the 2005 SLK series... and just the opposite with the 2005 3 series
