Yet another new car....2011 Hyundai Sonata

Just got this baby last night.
I am impressed by the amount of features this thing has in its price range.

It's a 2.0 turbo limited.

Haven't really used the trubo yet since I'm breaking it in at the moment.

I'm very impressed with how Hyundai is stepping up their game. They've come a long way and that car offers a lot of amenities for its price range. Did you get navi with it too?

A co-worker of mine who had always bought used finally bought a brand new car and it was a Sonata (non turbo) as well. I'm surprised the back seat even had butt warmers!

i've been reading them. they seem to be holding up fine except for one big problem. there is a left steering pull when accelerating that many owners are complaining about. good thing is i think they finally found a fix for it. another thing is the tires they come with are very noisy. some turbo owners are having wastegate problems as well.

congrats-while getting our 05 Hyundai Elantra GT serviced in July we decided to look over the new cars. They had a few '11 sonatas. To our surprise they had 6MT ones. We ended up trading the elantra with 100K+problem free miles for it. We do not have the pull that others have experienced. It gets over 30MPG. It has almost 14Kproblem free miles. great car.

gen coupes are having tranny issues (5th gear grind) and almost all of them are having clunking issues when lowered.

Congrats, man!! I almost got Pacific Blue on my Santa Fe but chose gray instead because I wanted the dark interior.

Yeah, I was surprised by that too. I would prefer front power passenger seat.

Also, some of the things I miss is the seat memory, reverse fold down side mirrors and hids.

The first thing I wanted to order for the car was the service manual. Good to know it's free.

I still can't find anything about how to properly break in this engine.

Any thoughts?

No one can say no to the turbo.

The drift and pull issue seems to be primarily on the SE models.

Hyundai has tried several different countermeasures, all making progress and improvements in their own ways. Even the delivery process was investigated to reduce load on the tires during transport. Suspension geometry is getting reworked to fix the problem, as well.

The Turbo is a quick car. My old '03 TL Type-S w/ I/H/P was dead even with my friend's brand new SE Turbo (picked up from the dealership and raced on the interstate home with like 25 miles on it ). Mine ran 14.4 in the quarter on a cold evening on street tires. Once broken in, I have no doubt the Turbo can clock low 14s bone stock.

I tell ya what. Everyday I drive my brand new Genesis Coupe. I like it and I enjoy driving it. Then on the weekends or something I will get behind the wheel of my wife's '11 Sonata Limited... and I get pissed off that my interior is subpar to her car's interior.

Have fun with the new ride, man. Once you get the turbo spooled up, it's focking quick.

They did not charge us for the service (that was even before we decided to buy the car). They even transferred the sirius radio from the elantra to the sonata. They did an excellent job of installing it. My husband wants his Howard and the subscription had 8 months to go. There is xm radio in the car which we let expire after the 90 days.

Congratulations!! Nice looking ride!!

My best friend and I were discussing the new Sonata Turbo last week and we both agreed that Hyundai is taking it to a new and very welcome level. But while he indicated that he'd get one over any other car in the class, the jury's still out for me. (I'd still pass up Hyundai's cool styling and impressive value versus a decently discounted 2011 AV6 EX-L.)

Anyhow, bring it to Etown once you have it broken in. I'd like to see how quick they are in person.

I've always been a fan of the Sonata and tried one back in May when I was shopping.

I'm glad Hyundai seems to have found a fix for the left pull problem; it seemed to be a very common complaint on the Hyundai forums I checked out a few weeks ago after she said she noticed it on the forums when she was shopping for a new car.
