For what it's worth, the RSX-S will catch and pass a base WRX. But, they are very close in the 1/4 mile. If the driver has some skills, the RSX-S is not a car to underestimate IMHO.

AWD sucks for top end, rsx-s with a good driver will pull away from evos on the top end

While I'll agree that AWD sucks for topend (usually), Evos top out at 155 mph (redline limited). The RSX seems to be drag limited to 142 mph in FP trim. NOTE: I dont know if the new 210hp RSX-S is any quicker.

stock - the wrx is quicker than the rsx-s.

but a rsx-s w/ hondata will kick a wrx's ass.

it takes quite a while for an evo to get up to 155, remove the rsx-s governer and see what happens

The WRX, with its turbo, can be easily modified into a 1/4 mile monster.

The RSX-S is drag limited not governed.

I think that an expertly driven RSX-S can take a well driven stock WRX.

maybe an RSX-S could take a stock WRX from a stop if the WRX was an auto... but if it was stick against stick, def not...

On a clean road surface? Although this is a measure of tire adehesion more than actual handling, C/D pulled a .86 skidpad with the 05 RSX-S and a .81 skidpad with the WRX.

But I have to admit that I am biased in favor of the RSX. Out of all the cars in the class (WRX, RSX-S, SRT4, Ion Red Line, Cobalt SS), I think the RSX is easily the best one. (the STi and Evo are in their own world) While the rest of the competition have gone FI, Honda makes due competitively with VTEC.

I just wish Honda would massage the K20A2 the same way they did the F20C. Then the RSX just might have something for the Evo.

lets say your taking the two cars around a mountain track, uphill, i think the wrx would come out on top, if the turbo doesnt blow up first

...sounds like your talking drift....if that's the case 'WRX please'.

But I was talking road course. I'd like to see the WRX hang with the DC5 on the course featured in this video (that I have):

* The track does feature elevation changes. (If I can find a rip on the video, I'll post a link.)

Excerpt from Super Street Magazine :

The launch of the LA-DC5 chassis in July of last year signaled the end of the USDM Acura Integra. This new car would be known as the RSX, in order to align it with the rest of Acura's alphabet-soup model designations. In Japan the base-model DC5 Integra is called the iS, which parallels the U.S.-spec RSX. The two cars essentially share the same basic 2.0L, 160hp i-VTEC engine controlled with either a standard five-speed manual or an S-Matic autobox. The hotter 200hp Type-S (or GS-R replacement) is the alpha dog in the RSX lineup, but there is no word yet on a stateside DC5 Type R.

Still (back on topic), the WRX is more powerful than the new ITR (220ps-->~216hp) I dont know all the specs on the new ITR but I dont believe that it's THAT much faster than the 210hp 05 RSX-S.

Ok I have an RSX-S and I wanted a WRX at the time I bought my car. The only reason being why I didnt buy the WRX is I know I would want to mod the hell out of the car. So I went with the RSX and I regret it, I have not been the happiest camper with this car.

This is a matter of opinion and driving skill(which I have none).

Quick Reply: is a WRX=RSX-S
