My comment was not me being a dick. My comment was me stating that there needs to be a section for this stuff.
This portion of the forums are for people trying to better their TL, or share Mods and pictures of their TL. Not get legal advice when they get caught driving erratically.
Also...since when is 24 being a kid? Guy needs to be able to handle his own mishaps at that age.
Wonder what "kids" did when they got tickets before the interwebz was invented
Must have been some tough times.:

Whats up with RDX owners?
iTrader: (9)
Here in VA I got stopped for 78 in a 60, and the trooper said had I been doing 80(I wasnt doing 78 in the first place but thats another story), he would have arrested me.
I'd be most worried about that wreckless driving ticket. Definately hire a traffic attorney. You will most likely still have to pay some fines, but if they can get around that wreckless driving ticket then you should be fine.

Can you ABSOLUTELY 100% confirm this? Because I head that if you hold a NY Drivers Liscence, tickets issued in NY, NJ, CT, parts of Canada and maybe even FL are recorded. I definitely the FL one is true because it was reported to NY DMV and I thought it was true for the NJ ones too. However maybe they report the ticket but not the points, I'm not sure how that works.
Wreckless Driving ticket is a pretty bad ticket, I would not pay that, I would try to plea bargain that crap. I've been in your position many times but don't have experience with NJTPKE tickets eventhough I drive it all the time, just been lucky not to get nabbed.

If I get a ticket for a moving violation in another state, do I receive points on my NYS driver license?
The NYSDMV does not record out-of-state violations committed by NYS drivers in other jurisdictions. The exceptions are alcohol-related violations, drug-related violations, and moving violations committed in Quebec or Ontario. Under special agreements, traffic convictions in Quebec or Ontario are recorded on NYS driver license records and carry points. Except for violations in Ontario and Quebec, points are not added to your NYS record for out-of-state violations.
If you do not respond to a ticket or fail to pay a fine for a moving violation that you committed in any state except Alaska, California, Michigan, Montana, Oregon or Wisconsin, the DMV suspends your NYS driver license until you respond to the ticket or pay the fine. If a driver from a state except these six states fails to respond to a traffic ticket issued in NYS, their driver license will be suspended until the driver responds to the traffic ticket in NYS.
Drivers from other states must contact the DMV in their home state to get information about the effect of a traffic violation conviction that occurs in NYS.
If you receive a conviction for an alcohol-related or drug-related driving violation in any state, your NYS driver license is revoked for at least six months.

The OP was frank in his story and just needs some advise - not to be beaten up. I am sure he will learn from this lesson... most of us do.

Yes and no. Either way, he will have to appear in court for the kinds of violations that he got. He probably won't win, but 9 out of 10 times in NJ they automatically plea bargain the ticket down to something less major.

Your reckless should've been a careless driving summons. There is a big difference between reckless driving and careless driving. Careless you can plea down as well. Trust me, I should know. I write careless driving summonses QUITE A LOT if you get where I'm coming from.

I have had some mishaps on my license in the past. I just got a ticket in NJ and so I called my lawyer and he told me just to pay the ticket because there are very very few areas that transfer points to NY licenses. Just call a lawyer he will know immediately.

Just got home from work, and I call a lawyer from Mt. Holly a town next to the one I got the summons. I talked to hem and he told me that, "it don't look good for me, buy he know both of the judge and he made an appointment to go and talk to hem on Monday".
