Which would you pick: 2009 G37x sedan or 2009 Acura TL

I like red needles. IMO it adds a more sportiness look to it; thus, I like the '09 and older cluster of the G!
I still say....G all the way! The GS is a boring car! Test drove it several times through the cones at one of those Lexus driving event and it felt like a boat!

+1 on GS being a boring car.
I drove my friend's GS a lot before and I thought it rode like a Camry.
If you are looking for something super comfortable, then it would not be a bad choice. It's spacious as well.

Between those two I would get the G. I am not a fan of the looks of the 4door g, but it still looks better then the TL. You can always get a GPS with hands free. I like the 07-08 TL the best!

I get what you are trying to say. However, I still presented a view of the TL to the OP that he might find attractive if he was using the TL as a daily driver. Now that I know he has two toddlers, if it was me, I would appreciate the extra room the TL has to offer. I talked about things that matter in the real world, on a daily basis. The G is a fun car, but you can only have so much fun on your daily commute. If he is going to be driving like a normal person, with kids in the back seat, I don't think the fun factor of the G will be apparent over the FWD TL.

I say give a 2010 - 2012 Subaru 3.6R a look. Roomy, comfortable, a bit quick, and AWD.
OK, ok, had to shill for Subaru, but the Volvo S60 is a nice ride too. But that one needs to be the newest model w/300 HP engine.

I don't have near the time it would take to aggregate every review to prove my point. If you have the time to do so with reviews showing otherwise, by all means, go for it. I was just going off of my recollection. You are an admitted Honda fanboy, I'm probably just wasting my time with this anyway.
If space and comfort are his top two criteria, then why not go with an Avalon? I'm guessing they're not, or at least not his only criteria or he would've chosen different cars to look at. Everyone has different priorities, and it's up to the OP to decide where his lie.

Just for you WILLDOGS I just test drove an 08 G35x with all the goodies. Black with tan interior (tan is ok but I like the black or grey better). Great, great car. Tight solid handling, great acceleration, quiet, comfortable interior. The G is definately a great car. Again, the navi didn't interest me too much though I played with it and liked setting the address using voice commands - veddy veddy nice. The backup camera that comes with the navi is what I liked (with two toddlers a nice feature). Also, the upgraded stereo rocked. The car is listed for $20K with 51K miles and the remainder of the factory 7yr/70K warranty.
But....he has a 2010 G37x that he just got - was enroute from the detailer so I didn't see it yet. Black with black interior, no navi but backup camera, has hands free phone $25K with 25K miles. Hmmmmm.....headed back to drive it now. I thing it doesn't have is a sunroof though.

Out of those two I would take the G37. The extra power, AWD, and better styling is what makes me give it the win. But, like someone else mentioned if you were considering the TL SH-AWD I would go for the TL since you get the 3.7, AWD, and the handsfreelink. But I would also choose the 6MT over the auto.

Sweet!
Agree go with the 2010 G37 if it checks out. Nothing wrong with the 08, but with with the 2010 you get 25k miles out of the bumper to bumper full warranty and upgraded interior pieces as well as larger engine
If not, the 2008 is the way to go! No wrong choice either way good luck! (Just make sure you run carfax/autocheck before purchase)

Not to make your choice harder lol, but I love my Navi and voice command as well as reverse cam. If you are a tech geek like myself, you will love all the voice commands and he other goodies.
Sounds like the 08 you drove has the both Tech and Premium package. If so it also has AFS head lights(Move with turns) and perhaps ICC (Intelligent cruise control). Check the front bumper for the sensor, can't miss it. Mine is fairly large.
Also FYI if you purchase the 08, you can still buy the Infiniti Elite Care warranty which pretty much extends the base warranty. You can purchase coverage up to 100k miles (Depending on how much you want to spend) You can shop around and find the cheapest rate from any Infiniti dealer in the country. I am about to pull the trigger on a 3y/36k mi Elite Warranty from an Infiniti Dealer in Arizona who by far is the cheapest.

...the plastic quality in the Acura stand out in comparison to the Infiniti.

Yeah, I'm a Honda fanboy. But I still voted for the G. I guess that puts me in a bad spot.
The G is a great car, and probably the best value in this class. Both cars are better than each other in some things while they are equal in other areas. Don't take the positive attributes of the TL (that I pointed out) as criticism of the G. He is genuinely asking for our opinion on which car he should get, and he deserves to hear both sides.

I love my 2010 g37s. The updated interior is definitely an improvement t over my 08 g37s I traded from in 2010. I'd also hold out for the nav if it was me but that's a feature I refuse to do without in any car I purchase. Mine's the coupe though....

G37 since the TL is not SH-AWD.
I have never been a fan of the G but the '10 G37xS posted above looks great. The new S (?) fascia looks great with the lines/grille.
Hard choice about the GS. I love the look of it. I think it would be a very comfortable car but it's a little low on flavor.

Don't think many people opted for it. when I got my G, it was the first time I had ever seen it. I try to check out other G's when they drive by and I have yet to see another G with it around me.

***OFFICIAL UPDATE***
I picked up my new to me car Saturday morning. My 4 year old son, Luke, went with me and we turned over the 1997 Acura CL 2.2 Premium that I owned for the last 15 years, putting on more than 175,000 miles (the ridiculously difficult and infuriating experience of replacing the front captive rotors marring its otherwise mostly trouble free existence with me). Before leaving for the dealership, my wife choked back tears as I cleaned out the Acura and drove it out of the garage for the last time (why is it we become so emotionally attached to our cars?).
At the dealership I had fun with Luke letting him "help" me pick out the new car and the color, even though I had already picked it out the day before. Although he was sure the new Hugger Orange Camaro SS convertible sitting on the showroom floor would make the perfect family car for us, he agreed the car the dealer had tagged with a hold placard in the windshield with my name on it was a good second choice.
Owning Acura's have always been easy choices for me. My first Acura was a 1987 Acura Integra purchased after my 1985 Mazda RX-7 was stolen, stripped to the shell and totaled by insurance:
That Integra led to the next gen Inegra:
Which led me to a Legend:
Before the Acura's I would typically get a different car every 6 months to a year. But with the Acura's I was keeping them a lot longer - a testament to the quality of the vehicles. Both Integras and the Legend all served me for close to 200K miles before I would move on to my next car.
After the Legend I got into the '97 CL that I just traded in:
Okay so I've owned my share of Acura's. So when looking for a replacement I drove the 4G TL and felt right at home in at as soon as I got into it. Without over analyzing it, it just had that familiarity to me. Must be the Acura DNA. Acura's have served me well for many many many years so I certainly trust the quality of the Acura brand as well. So with that said, let me introduce you all to:

The end of an era.
I chose the 2010 G37x Journey Sedan, graphite grey, black interior 28K miles (already over 29K miles ) for $25K out the door.
The car is a bit dirty as the roads are still slushy and snow covered from a recent snow fall but here are some pics:
I'm loving this car! It's been a long time since I've looked forward to going for a drive and have wanted to take the long ride home. Thanks to everyone for your help in my decision making process. It was a lot of fun! Now if you'll excuse me I think I'm going jump in my G37x to head out for a coffee...I'll be taking the long way
