W/ the state they are in? We went to the autoshow yesterday and I again fell in love w/ the Evo

I would not hesitate buying one - Mistu isn't going anywhere, Nissan was in their same perdicament some years back and they came out of it, so will Mitsu.

evo is great, awesome mod potential. but yeah, i know what you mean about the state that mitsu is in... FWIW the evo is a great car, from a not so great company. go for a test drive and see what kinda of deal you can get at the dealership... if you really like the car, i say go for it, you'll only regret it later on.

No, but I'd wouldn't buy a Mitsubishi before either... Just never liked 'em from day one...
I've said the same thing about hyundai, but I'd be more likely to buy a hyundai before a mitsubishi

I really liked the EVO yesterday at the auto show, but I also liked the STi, and something inside me still says the smart choice is the G35C. But the interior updates to the GTO also have me thinking. However the Trailblazer SS is now off the list
well, test drives will start on monday.

G35c 6spd is a SMART choice. u cant go wrong with that. if the g35c was AWD i would be all over it
friend of mine @ infinit dealership told me that infiniti as a corporation is having financial troubles though... which surprised me bigtime since the G35 is selling so well, but he told me that the other models aren't selling nearly as well and that the company may get into some financial trouble in the next few years if they can't change that around

^-not sales figures, but information that shows that Infiniti i as a whole is doing better than ever
Generally dealerships are the last to now information about the company they work for, unless they have friends in the right places.

thats what i thought, but they must know something we dont know. sales figures isn't everything either, we dont know how much they've spent in terms of r&d. perhaps they were expecting a larger return, or needed a higher number of sales to turn a profit. for all we know they could have had a massive sunk cost and maybe they're not recovering it as much as they would like and for sure aside from the G the other models aren't leading their classes in sales or anything of that nature. and i do wonder if the G is leading sales in their class? i would think most likely.. can anyone find any hard data? just wondering
but who knows, theres a lot out there we dont know about. lots of factors involved, but i would like to believe that infiniti is doing well. for sure nissan is doing well so im sure infiniti will be fine in one way or another
btw the family friend i have used to work for the corporate branch in nissan in japan, so im sure he has some friends in high places. purely an assumption though so he could def be wrong.

u can get pre-owned STI for under 30... or EVO. it seems like you want a sporty car you dont need to mod too much. between the EVO and STI i would probably go for EVO, but FWIW the STi is a damn good car too... i think mods for the evo is cheaper though. i heard that with few mods u can make the evo a 12 sec beast
u can get '03 G35c with around 20-30k miles for under 30k, if you want to go that route. but yeah, mods are pretty expensive. if u want to mod the car a lot you can go rsx-s pre owned and hook the shit out of it.
let us know what you're thinking. if i were you i would prob go for evo 8 or sti, test drive both to see which one you're feeling more. once you get kids, its hard to have fun with cars like those.

The 2006 STi has improved the DCCD (the suspension program) and it puts in EVO territory in the handling dept. And I love the looks, but thats subjective.
With the handling improvements it seems moot to get a used Sti now...

it's all moot

well, I can swing more then 30K, that was just basically the point i'm looking at. No matter what I get i'll buy new (unless it's a used Z06, damn you jizzball)
RSX-S?

Used C5 Z06= my next ride. You can't beat the used performance value! A brand new car is nice as well. You know EXACTLY how it has been treated. If new I would go with a modded GTO or STI.
