Would you be concerned about these tire cracks? (pics)

A friend of mine told me that the dealer where he takes his car told him that he needed (2) new tires because his were dangerous due to some cracks/cuts.

He says that he parks too close to the curb and that's how he has done the damage. I don't think that I would be concerned, but what do you think?

BTW, the tires are relatively new and/or excellent condition.

thats not a crack thats a gouge...and if he is going fast enough and hits a pot hole or crappy patch of road he is risking a blow out pending how deep that gouge is...and it looks like a good chunk.

Uh, yea...

I had the same concern, but on a much smaller scale. This was determined to not be an issue.

I'd replace at least the damaged tires. Oh and tell your friend to learn how to park!

Depending on how many miles are on the set, I'd buy 2 or 4 new tires. And learn how to park, jeez.

Get at least two, and rotate the good ones. If not, get 4. Remember, all of the pressure your car exerts to the road is not only on the contact patch, but on the sidewall. Definitely take care of this ASAP.

I very HIGHLY doubt the owner of that NSX would do anything that stupid. I hear he is quite competent when it comes to those vehiclethingamajigs.

I heard he got a blow-out from hitting road debris on the way back from picking up his nsx. Damn guy didn't even try to avoid it.

What the hell dude. Tell that guy he doesn't deserve to own that car for not even trying to avoid it. I've seen other pics of the car, it's an awesome ride too.

Damn tools.
