Why are you trying to change a timing belt when you have a timing chain that doesn't need replacing?

Ahhh, I see. That's good b/c timing belts are usually cost $$$, but I guess I don't know how much serpentine belts cost.

xoulu, do you plan on going anywhere after the wrap shop, or do you plan on staying there until 4?

I wouldn't roll with a split drivebelt. It should be cake to replace. Once they lose integrity you could make it 500 miles or 5 miles. Not worth it IMO.

Aww c'mon! It's only 1380 mi of America's most desolate highway that just begs you to push the limits of the car. What could possibly go wrong?

Teaser...

Majofo should have some much better pics later, but here is a teaser of the temporarily bi-racial Godzilla.

Well it didn't pull tire but close enough..

Xou.. not too many people would allow another guy to drive their car, especially insist on it. I hope you guys have a safe drive home. Have fun in Vegas.. put $20 on the roulette table for me, first 12.

I'm truly impressed that you fit two full size luggage, a duffel, a camera bag and misc cargo in the trunk and that all 4 of you fit in Godzilla.

Pictures coming soon..

shadow from those cheesy car lot streamers... you can see it continue on the ground on either side of the car.

Congrats on everything. Imo I think the GTR is the best looking, performing car under 100k. Good way to fight for your car and not let me b.s. dealer bully you around. Have fun be careful.

The left mirror and spoiler still weren't on when I took my pics. They are "carbon fiber" like the roof.

White vinyl with a black "carbon fiber" vinyl roof, spoiler, and mirrors. I think part of the grill too. The side skirts are the stock black, black rims, and I believe the bottom of the rear bumper is black.

^ how much is that all going to cost?
and do you need to do it all right now?
just wondering as i've heard the trans fluid cost over $100 a quart and you need more than a few quarts

and is it just me or do the tires look pretty worn

sucks about the damage, but at least you still got a good deal

New ownership, he should definitely do it. Start fresh. His drivebelt is okay, no integrity issues. His tires are worn a bit but still have plenty of life. They're 140A rated (almost r-compound rated) so it'll look more like a slick.

Thanks for meeting up with me Majofo and oo7spy
Thanks for the pictures too.

Here is a picture of Ian taking a picture with me.
He asked "Here it is. Tell the dogs not to Photoshop me too bad."

his smile may be a little forced, but it seems like he was being a good sport about it. So now that you have the car, should the title of the thread be changed???
