Wife's new ride...

Well, not new really... just new to us. 2006 Audi A6 with about 41xxx miles.

The wife's A4 warranty was coming up and we didn't want to keep the Audi outside of the warranty. We decided getting another new car was a waste (even though we were close on an A5, but decided against it), but she loved her Audi and the dealer is great too. Then she heard that a couple of A6's came off of leases at the dealer, so we test drove one and scooped it up.

Factoring in how much the extended warranty was going to be on her A4, plus the cost of some damage we had to fix (which she had for some time), the A6 cost us $4k out of pocket. Car is pretty much fully loaded minus NAV and in killer shape. It's also not even comparable to the A4. Completely different car, different league.

Anyway, some pics below along with a bonus pic of my ride all dressed up for the 4th of July parade.

^ Not a thing... just the warranty was expiring and we didn't want to keep it out of warranty. So instead of extending it, we got the A6. It's certified, so is warrantied to 100k so we kind of got the warranty anyway

I looked at some used ones online, but they come over 40K for anything decent...

Nice. So you just wanted a car that had a warranty for the piece of mind?

I guess it's good to have that if anything electrical were to go wrong with it.

I don't think owning an Audi outside of warranty is the most pleasurable experience. at least that's what I gather from most peoples comments.

Love the A6, even considering one as opposed to a G35x, but if you ditched the A4 because of the Warranty, is this almost out of warranty at 41,XXX miles? Get the extended warranty?

Was Cold Stone first? I guess it doesn't matter and it's obvious that you're doing well with your stores so with all due respect, congrats on that. Starting a business, even as a franchisee, isn't easy. Making it successful is even harder.

Believe it or not, they are tinted to the legal limit. Came on the car already.

Yeah. We were going to extend the warranty on her A4, but we got such a good deal on this thing that it worked out better

It would be, but b/c it's certified we get 3 years and 100k from the in-service date... so the timing worked out the same as if we extended the A4 coverage.

Marble Slab began in 1983. Just celebrated 25 years a few weeks ago. Cold Stone was 1988. That's why our slogan is the "The One. The Only. The Original". Marble Slab was the first concept like this to franchise. It's not easy, but it's fun. Turnover sucks, but once you get the hang of the cycles, not so bad.

Nice A6. Is it a Quattro or just FWD? I wouldn't want to own a car out of warranty either, no matter if it was an Audi or Acura (i've had both an '06 A4 and '05 RL).

It's Quattro. I don't think the latest A6s came in FWD, IIRC

Congrats on the ride. It looks very nice!

What made you decide against the A5 though.

Congrats JB! I love A6s, it's one of the most stylish cars on the road, at least for me. I think it looks as good if not better than my A8 . I thought Navi was standard though...

lol.. yeah. I had my fun with new cars, but we've decided it's time to continue to sink money into assets and other investments which appreciate instead of ones that go the other way (even though they are fun). Plus, we got a $50k+ car for about half that. Still runs great and some other sucker took the depreciation

We currently have two locations open... the top location (SouthPark), is currently in development...

Thanks! And correct, it's quattro and the new A6 (2006+) are all quattro only.

GM's quote below (and my reply above) is why we decided against the A5

JB, so the screen displays vehicle info than on the screen? I really thought all A6/A8 models equipped with Audi's MMI came with navigation.

I wondered which one was yours. Had thought about asking.

Besides the Marble Slab, there's a Manhattan's and something Ice Cream and Coffee at Newtown and Providence.

Next time I'm at AutoZone, I promise to stop in.

Are all Audis that bad, as far as problems and reliability are concerned?

Is there one good reliable German car?
