A buddy of mine has a 2000 bullitt gt and a 1998 cobra. I told him to come check this site out but he said he wont come on any import sites because everyone just talks shit nonstop about mustangs.

I've seen it here a bunch of times. Why does everyone rip the stangs so bad?

 

dont know, I like mustangs. I had an 86 GT before I bought my cls. It ran great!

 

I like Mustangs too. I had one as my first car, and a buddy of mine now has one in mint condition (think it's a 1990) that puts down close to 500whp. I even go to E-town with him once in a while to watch the Ford vs. Chevy races.

Most Mustang owners talk shit about imports when one is faster then them.. so then the import guys start talking shit about them. It works the other way too (import owners start talking shit to Mustang owners). I believe we have a few Mustang owners on here.... and no one seems to rip on them as long as they don't come in bashing on our cars.....

Historically you're either a Ford, Chevy (GM) or MoPar fan. With rare exceptions do folks cross the line.

So for me. the few Fords I like would be 69-71 models, epecially the Shelbys, GT500, Mach 1s and a few cool ones such as the Cyclones or older Cougars.

I think that the owner's often create a dislike about the car becuase of thier attitude and not due to the car itself...IMHO

I do not like mustang's because they are ugly...and pretty much every mustang owner I have ever known was a knucklehead with something to prove...

I guess I just notice it more when someone says anything about a mustang. I had one before the cl, and actually I wish I bought another intead of my cls.

Well i don't think EVERYONE hates on mustangs. There are some that don't give them any respect, for sure.

However if you were to go on a domestic forum you'd see a ton of anti-import stuff over there. Its not just one sided.

Stangs rule. I had a 66, my dad has a 66 currently that I drive and I'd kill for an 03 cobra.

i agree with CLpower...they do the same to acura/honda.....its just a constant war of who has the better car.....everyone want to defend their cars so they will..

btw, Saleens are overpriced piles. For half the price you could build a car that will outperform a saleen in every aspect

 

Back on track, there are many many Mustangs out there that are purely awesome. There was a recent vid of an amazing Saleen mustang that was supposed to be the video car for another race and it kept pulling on the cars racing. Also, the new blown cobras are sick! Swaping the stock blower pulley easily puts them in low 12s on drag radials. Amazing power from what you can get from the factory.

The problem is, that there are those mustang owners with some flowmasters who think their car is the sickest thing out there, same goes for those civics out there with their universal mufflers and APC stickers.

To make a blanket statement that all mustangs suck would be foolish, although many of their drivers have really big heads thinking their car can't be touched by anything else on the road... more so than most other car owners out there IMO.

Think the biggest factor is Ford has really let the car go for a long time, hence the pos comments. I don't think the current stang is all that great of a car, not that I go around picking fights with mustang owners, I just think its not a very good all round car. I like seeing the cobra on the streets and hearing the engine but its unlikely I would buy one. On the other hand I think the 2005 mustang looks like a real winner and should do a lot to improve the image of the mustang.

 

i just think that there are too many of them. once in a while you will see a really nice and original one (big mods and/or saleen), but most of them are all the same. that is one of the things that i like about the CL, not too many, there are like maybe 10 max where i live compared to what seems like 10000 mustangs
