Who wants my 350ZR?
OK, j/k on the offer but I am losing my patience here. One month ago the car was in the shop for 8 days to have the trannie fixed under warranty. The synchros were bad b/n 5th and 6th gear. This was done due to a TSB and was b/c the shifting was getting harder and harder. Yesterday I went to get a haircut, came out and the car wouldn't move out of gear (felt like 4th) and wouldn't let me shift into another gear. So basically, the car felt like the e-brake was on even though it wasn't. Called the dealer who tole ME to call a tow truck, mind you, this is a friend of a very close friend who knows our connection. Maybe I'm expecting too much but c'mon . . . . 5 phone calls later and not once has the dealer said sorry for the inconvenience or anything like that. My bottom-line impression is that they didn't put the car back together right and it's their screw-up that got me in this position. I'll see what happens today.

Sadly...its a Nissan dealer...not Lexus. I haven't heard the greatest things about their service departments.
Sucks chief. Hope it gets fixed correctly this time.

My dealer couldn't even get my CD player in my Z replaced... I drove all summer with the same CD. I was having nightmares thinking "what is something really serious happened with this car." Nissan's service ruined it for me. Hope they take care of you.

I forgot to mention the tow truck driver "didn't know where he was going to turn around" and so I said fuck it, I'll get out here--just over a mile from my house. So I then walked home, got my Wrangler and went back to work 3 hours later. When I asked the dealer for a loaner they said "we don't give loaners for warranty work." I said but it's not warranty work, it's your screw-up! "We'll call Nissan and see what they want to do." Umm, you're not getting this obviously, have the svc mgr call me. And so, that's where it sits, literally.

True, Nissan service departments are not top notch. My home dealership is no exception to that.
However, I found Deland Nissan to be terrific when the throttle body on my Murano went bad while on vacation in Florida. Without any notice on my part and no delay on their part, they took my Murano in immediately, replacing the TB AND addressing a service recall. I was good to go within two hours. (My home dealership spent about 2hrs hasseling me over a previously disconnected battery when the MAF sensor went bad in my 02 Maxima....as though that somehow would have contributed to failed MAF sensor. )
So I hold out hope that there are some great Nissan service depts out there......they are just few and far between.
Good luck Chief!!

One of my clients lost the motor of his new Z06 on the track, well, they fixed it and he went back to the track and lost his transmission. Turns out the idiots that replaced the motor forgot to put tranny fluid in

Funny you say that Scott b/c my car shifted from 1-2 in the morning like it didn't have any fluid in the trannie. I even double checked to make sure. I got a call from Mr. Svc Manager who asked "Just what were YOU doing when this happened." I felt like saying going WOT, 140 in 6th and shifted to reverse w/o the clutch what do you think douchebag?

I've been to two dealerships here in so cal, puente hills nissan and cerritos nissan. Both suck ass! the service advisor's I had to deal with for my brother's car were dicks and had no clue as to what they were doing.
My wife and bro-in-law both have sentras and my bro-in-law has been to other dealerships in so cal and has complained about all the ones he's been to as well. Nissan has some good cars, it's the dealerships that kill it for me and would keep me from ever buying a Nissan.

OK, final update of the day. The car has no problems it just happened all by itself and Nissan is not going to do anything about it. "If it happens again, we'll have to see about ordering a new transmission." Ummm, so what happens when I'm on a highway somewhere on the other side of NY on business?

That sucks Chief. Hopefully if it does happen again next time you will get some decent service. I for one will never buy a nissan just because of how the 2 dealers i went to treated me (that and the horror stories about their service dept from friend with them)
How are your F1's treating you?

Nissan customer service compared to Infiniti's is just night and day difference.
Nissan does not provide loaners; only some Nissan dealers do, if there is $400 maintenance happening.
The only way to get a loaner from Nissan, is having purchased extended warranty, and getting a problem that cannot be fixed in 1 day. Been there, done that.
